Giving it a fair chance despite the obvious affirmative action casting, but all that aside, this movie is a snoozer. The main characters are very boring and I’m sorry but this Peter Pan kid they cast is just not good for this role. Peter Pan is a cocky mischievous redhead kid and this kid just seems way too prissy and proper. I’m not saying Pan has to be white but it’s like they took this kid out of Juliard or etiquette school and just slapped a pan costume on him and tried to force it. The acting overall is very dull.

I kept waiting for this movie to get funny, clever or exciting and it is just very meh.

Not to beat a dead horse but they really shoehorn the diversity of the cast in there. I’m sorry but diverse casts do not a good movie make, plain and simple.

These days movies and actors are mostly judged not on the content of their characters, but the colors of their skin, which is why I never planned on giving this a shot. The trailer looked stupid, and it was apparent that they don’t care if they could act, only that they were diverse.

I watched the first 30 mins of the movie and did not like Hook. I may just be spoiled from Dustin Hoffman.
The kid playing Peter Pan didn’t bother me, but the girl playing Wendy was annoying. She was trying too hard.

I felt it was the other way around. His character (for the 30 mins I watched) was too evil. Like I said in my reply above, I am kind of judging him on Dustin Hoffman’s Hook, which I felt was perfect.

The whole lost boys thing with girls is absurd. Misses the original point entirely.

That is the result of jamming shite down peoples throat. They will eventually hate the thing that they are choking on. Human nature

Hook is ok I suppose, not near as charismatic as Hoffman or even the cartoon

Hook and the OG Cartoon are the only ones worth watching. Every other adaptation is trash.

Middle eastern Peter Pan. Black Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell and Wendy get along from the start. The lost boys are mostly girls. The movie is as colorful as Saving Private Ryan. Very boring and terrible movie. At least it was diverse, right?

Can't just be Peter Pan anymore can it? Has to be Peter Pan AND WENDY. It got the classic diversity rating from Rotten Tomatoes Critics 67% Audience 20%. They also probably lied about it costing 40M to make. Who makes movies for that anymore?

The play was Peter Pan. When he turned it into a book he called it Peter and Wendy.

But people can go ahead and lap up some fake outrage if they want I guess.
