Good for Lamar and Burrow and Herbert are next in line.

My feeling is, do you have the balls do cut bait and go 4-13 or do you spend the money and hope to go 10-7/11-6? At least the signing gives your fans some hope.

I know it's the cool thing to shite on Lamar here.

But the dude just got one of the highest AAV's in the NFL without an agent. Props for the hustle.

5 years is what makes this doable

it's debatable if he makes it to year 4, so 1 more year of dead money ,and injured player doesnt hurt as much, as another 3 more years at that cash

Divisional round then. That seems to be the ceiling for Jackson.

That was the ceiling for young jackson. He’s a rapidly diminishing asset. I respect him for not caving and getting an agent. Can’t imagine he would’ve got substantially more and likely would’ve netted less.

Is it a hot take to say I'd rather Justin Fields over Lamar Jackson?

Shouldn't they just pay everyone $1billion? Looks like no stopping this

Stopping what

Contracts go up as revenue goes up. It’s quite simple

Dude could barely spell out a coherent sentence, I doubt he can lead his team to the superbowl.

The same thing was said about Terry Bradshaw. Not saying he will approach what Bradshaw did, but the mental capacity between the two doesn't appear to be much different.

Maybe, maybe not. I’ve seen some non-elite QBs take their teams pretty far. Just last season we watched a team go to the NFC title game with their third string QB. The Ravens may not accomplish anything, but I think Lamar is good enough for the Ravens to accomplish good things.

You're purposely avoiding the point. Once the Ravens have to dump talent because of this outsized contract they won't be making the playoffs.

He's fragile, mediocre in the pocket, but, he still can give a defense fits when he runs.

Just not when he throws.

Burrow about to get 5/$270M.
Or they ride his rookie contract next two years to get a Lombardi and pay Chase and Higgins

Let's see 5 years. Probably misses 3-4 games for 2 years, and maybe 10 or more in a season with an injury. Then gets replaced in a couple years with some suitcase qb that hits a hot streak.

So eleventy million divided by 30 games... he's rich.

No team has won a Super Bowl with their QB taking up more than 15% of the salary cap.

Well that’s great news for the Ravens since Lamar's salary next year is 14.6% of the cap

LINK

ETA : without looking it up, Im willing to bet a majority of the 31 teams that do not win the Super Bowl every year also have QBs making less than 15% of the cap
