I'll never understand why Jay Johnson hates the bunt so much.

Because he doesn’t believe in the small ball philosophy. During the post season, teams have to manufacture runs anyway possible as this could eventually become LSU’s kryptonite

What a frustrating game. Had we won, I’d say both frustrating and enjoyable.

Bunt Pearson
They intentionally walk Crews

Same situation

I agree, and I know that's not what happened, but a DP hit by Pearson there crushes us

On defense we don’t do anything special to help out the pitcher either

They have a better lineup and better pitching than last season. But the errors and mental mistakes they’ve made the last few weeks are no different than last season. Much of that defensive and mental “improvement” in February and March was being masked by inferior competition and LSU’s talent.

Runner at third wasn’t even in a position to tag either. He was running back to third base when Merrifield passed him

Yep, two mistakes on the missed cut-off and two base running mistakes on the final play. The baserunning play is inexcusable. If he waits to ensure the ball drops and it does drop, its one out, the game is tied and runners on the corner. Obviously if its caught, we are still alive with two outs and its likely a tie game if the runner tags.

Just a stupid way to lose a game.

LSU has no business losing to a team of that caliber.

How many players were out tonight for LSU?

How many GREAT plays they made? 5-6 GREAT MLB LEVEL plays.
This is baseball dumbass

Great teams don't play screw up games like tonight! Pathetic! Great teams have depth, players that can step in and play above average baseball.

What was the last great team you’ve seen at LSU?

There’s been a bunch of negatives tonight but don’t let it get lost that Hurd had a very good outing along with a great play
Hopefully he continue to build confidence

If we play them 20 times, we win 18. Get over it.

We have the worst base coaches, they direct traffic worse than tee ball. We may as well have Ray Charles Coaching 3rd and Ronnie Milsap at 1st to make it more interesting. Coaching on bases suck.

That was a great play AGAIN by that SS and you’re blaming Merrifield? Nah man

Do you even know baseball situational awareness? With 1 out, the base runners cannot run themself out of an inning. Yeah the SS made an incredible catch, BUT Merrifield CANNOT commit that mental error.
