I think it has more to do with lack of pushback from men who should be putting them in their place. The other side has been neutered to sit back and take it. Think of that kid on the playground hiding behind a bigger kid talking smack to everyone because he knows he is protected. Same thing, he is hiding behind protection from federal police agencies while threatening normal Americans.
