Danielle Epstein, 32, says she is running the London Marathon on Sunday in honor of her ex-boyfriend — after leaving him because his cancer battle was “damaging” her mental health.

Her ex, Jelle Fresen, was diagnosed in September with a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer, a grade 4 medulloblastoma, at the age of 37.

Fresen had to learn how to walk again after 17 hours of brain surgery. He also underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and began nine months of chemotherapy. The struggle was simply too much for Epstein at the time.

“I felt like the most awful person, leaving somebody because they have cancer, but it was damaging my mental health, and it wasn’t helping Jelle,” Epstein explained to South West News Service.

c-u-n-t or nah?

They don’t call them “the me” generation for nothing, but on the other hand, she never swore before God and family to to love and to hold, for better or worse, til death do they part.

So, she gets the life she wants. One filled with a big challenge that she bailed on for selfish reasons. Good luck with that life.

Maybe the cancer fighting ex-bf will be better off in the long run.

Would society be as forgiving of the person if the roles were reversed?

Suppose the guy decided to break up with his cancer patient girlfriend because the stress was too much on him and HE was having mental health issues while SHE lay in the hospital bed trying to learn how to walk again.

No problems with her leaving him. It’s not a good look, but I know how draining those situations can be. They weren’t married. Neither condemn or condone this one.

However, frick this bitch straight to hell for publically saying the marathon run was in honor of the ex. She is trying to have her cake and eat it too. You can’t run a marathon as a substitute for the support you were unwilling or unable to give when it mattered most. That’s who you were. End of story.

You keep on walking away and move on with your life, not pull this shite.

The "Me" generation is a term referring to Baby Boomers in the United States and the self-involved qualities associated with this generation.[1] The 1970s was dubbed the "Me decade" by writer Tom Wolfe;[2] Christopher Lasch wrote about the rise of a culture of narcissism among younger Baby Boomers.

you act like there is something wrong with that.

At the end of day, you're only supposed to make yourself happy. You shouldn't have to worry about anyone else or their feelings
