CJ, B.I., and Zion are all making that starting next season. If you have a team with that kind of salary going out to its top 3 players that tells me you should be a top 6 (really top 4) team or someone is getting fired/traded.

With average health (for the NBA), the Pels should be a 50 win or better team.

A good question.

What other teams have that expenditure…

Denver… contending
Golden State… contending
Boston… contending
Milwaukee… contending
76ers… contending
Phoenix… contending

Clippers …meh …but have 90 mil tied up in 2 players
Lakers…as above
Miami … 4 x 30mil players!

That’s the list…

It’s hard to put us in a category of having 3 guys making 30+ mil when one of those guys is part time and doesn’t take being a pro seriously.

Hell, we just had our top 3 players with one NOT making $30mil and couldn't do shite.

Every conversation we'll have this offseason about how good we can be or should be will all come down to that 1 word I don't even want to say right now.

We know what this team can be when they're healthy (probably the word Shel isn't wanting to say). It's a top team in the West. It's hard to ask to be a better team than that. But you know, things never seem to fall our way.

I'm just not getting my hopes up next year until we show we can be healthy for an extended period.

I mean I get the question, but it’s all predicated on health. We’re clearly a 50 win plus team with Zion and BI playing 75% of the games. I think that’s clear.

Right because once you take that ink pen and sign that paper you should make every shot, get all the rebounds, be in the best shape possible and win every game on the schedule just because your salary is high

The first week of January our record was 24-14, putting us on pace for a 50+ win season. 49 wins this year would have been good enough for the number 3 seed in the West.

It’s actually pretty impressive we even achieved that 24-14 record. Below is the number of games each player missed of those 38 games.

BI- 25
Zion- 11
Herb- 12
Larry- 10

So the team was capable early on to sustain success even with so many games missed by important players. So if our top 3 have league average health I think that secures the Pels a top 4 seed for sure.

I would trade every draft pick we own for the next 5 seasons if it could get us 65+ games of Zion/Bi and healthy for the playoffs. Maybe 10

Ok but 2 things.

1. Those teams would be around the same rank as us if their 3 30mil players only played 10 games together.

2. It’s a moot point. We can’t trade someone because we underperformed with 3 stars. Because we never had all the stars to underperform with and the person that would be traded is 1/3 30 mil player in this scenario. So it kind of completely destroys this scenario.

NBA is melodrama until now. So either they make the playoffs or shift it up. No reason for loyalty in a league with a joke of a trade system and rules

Injuries limit this team. Find a way to get three healthy players earning 30 million and then ask the question. Who would you trade and for whom?

Guys are in the top 5 % of athletic conditioning. They have access to the best nutrition and supplements. They have access to the best physicians. And yet these mofos are always hurt. What about those men with a jackhammer on a blacktop road in the middle of July ? frick these Spoiled athletes.
