She did have decent moves in the paint. When I said she needed work on her feet I was thinking defensively, beating opponents to the spot. If she doesn’t, she’ll be prone to getting in foul trouble. Some of that will come with coaching, some with conditioning. She’ll get there. Just maybe not in her first ye

In that case, yes..............she's definitely going to need work on defense and that's going to keep her minutes down. But if you remember, the case was the same during Fowles freshman season. Everyone forgets she came off the bench that season behind Tillie Willis, and generally played 20-25 min per game. She was the most athletic player I've ever seen at her size but, she was raw defensively AND offensively that season.

I would be ecstatic if we got either one, but both would be awesome. What is even better is we have one of the best coach in the country that knows what to do with them. Mulkey is building a giant at LSU with a few teams that could compete with us. This feels like a ucon run. Great time to be a tiger.

I just hope she stays healthy and gives us a good 7-10 years. She is a beast that’s for sure.

If LSU can land Van Lith to replace Morris and the Forward from DePaul to replace L. Williams they will likely go back to back IMO.

the big from Depaul is more like Angel than Williams. It might be hard to get a physical 6' 4" defender to match Williams.
On the positive side, there is a top 10 6'5" post and a top 2 6' guard to go with a top 50 point and a top 100 wing. The key thing for me would be an experienced point and post to help bring the freshmen along.

Morrow's numbers are like Angel, but her game is much closer to Williams.

While DePaul's Morrow is short for a post player (6-1), her thickness & quickness are unstoppable. Think female version of a healthy Zion around the basket. It's why Morrow was 7th in the nation with 12+ rebs per game. She also averaged almost 26 ppg (4th in the nation). She is another double-double monster.

95% of Angel's shots were limited-range layups/put-backs under the basket, so L. Williams was a perfect spacing compliment to Angel in the post bc she had a reliable mid-range shot that extended out to the elbows of the paint. But Morrow would be even better bc her mid-range shot is nothing-but-net elite & easily extends out to 15ft & 17ft (though very unreliable past that distance).

Someone will get a star in Morrow and I hope it's the good guys bc she is the perfect fit next to Angel. That'd be double the double-double Queens for Mulkey's proven paint-centric championship formula.

The scoring punch a Reese-Morrow combo would have would more than make up for any defensive deficiencies.

And don’t lose sight of the big picture. While Reese and Morrow are the unquestioned starters, you want a post rotation of four. Sa’myah Smith is a rugged defender akin to LaDaziah and Del Rosario has the potential to develop into a defender like South Carolina’s Cardoso.

So no, we don’t need a LaDaziah Williams clone at the vacant post position. While she may not be the rugged defender Williams is, Aneesah Morrow is a superstar who can flat out ball and score in her sleep. She’d make this team a ton better than last season, as hard as that is to believe.

Just imagining:

Starters: Flau’jae Johnson, Mikaylah Williams, Hailey Van Lith (Backcourt) Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow (Post)

Second team: Last’Tear Poa, Kateri Poole, Angelica Velez (Backcourt) Aalyah Del Rosario, Sa’myah Smith (Post)

Good night, that team would not only be NC favorites, there’s an almost even chance it goes undefeated.

Offense sells tickets
Defense wins games
Rebounding wins championships

That has been Mulkey's 4x's championship-winning formula and the Reese-Morrow combo would provide two of the nation's Top 10 rebounders for Mulkey's guaranteed 5th championship.

Um... that is not her list of 3 final schools... Its a tease video of where people think she should go...

Morrow is scheduled to visit LSU in the next couple weeks. She may not choose LSU but she is scheduled to visit very soon.

if you google HVL ,it says in one of the articles that she said " God didn't intend me to be a honorable mention". What does that mean to you guys?

Yes, I assumed when Morrow said she’d release a “top three” list, it would be a no-bullshite one-two-three list of schools, not what is obviously just a tease.

With Morrow taking her time, the obvious issue is that you don’t want her stringing you along then picking, say, South Carolina at the last moment while we’ve missed out on other good forwards who already committed.

I’d be worried if Ed Orgeron was in charge. But Kim Mulkey is, so I’m not worried.

I’m pretty sure that’s just a hype video. It’s not her Top 3. That video also included fans from NC St, Syracuse, Miami and Florida also begging her to come.

While she could have certainly eliminated LSU, UConn & Iowa, I don’t think this was her narrowed-down announcement. I guess we’ll see. I’m still holding out hope.

Eh there aren't many decent posts in the portal so waiting a little bit isn't a deal breaker IMO but I'm sure the coaches already have plans A, B and C, much like SC probably does as well (they just hosted a JUCO center)

It could mean that she wants to be a first team All-American and not an "honorable mention" All-American as she was this year, but I think it means she wants to win a championship!

Now if we are playing devil’s advocate, there’s always the possibility that Morrow will feel that in a starting lineup with Mikaylah Williams, Reese, and possibly HVL, there won’t be enough basketballs to go around. You have to hope she would relish being part of a super team and a great chance of winning a natty, not to mention the crowds and publicity at LSU.

At any rate, you don’t casually blow off the reigning national champions and Kim Mulkey. Nothing to do but sit back and see how this plays out in the next week or two.

Always fun to speculate what is going on behind the scenes. Eryn Barnum from Arkansas hasn’t committed yet and no doubt there are many programs who would love to have her signature today.

Kim could have told her: “Eryn, I’ll be honest, we’re going after Morrow, but you are our second choice. Hold off committing anywhere until Morrow signs. If we miss her, we want you.”

And there’s a good chance Barnum would love to come here and doesn’t mind waiting on the dominoes to fall with Morrow.

And of course, it may not be just LSU. Barnum is probably savvy enough to understand that once Morrow commits, she will have a ton of good programs after her, so she is probably taking a “wait and see” approach.

What's the time limit on this? When does a player need to sign with another program?
