Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, a Republican who has overseen the state’s elections for five years, will not run for re-election.
quote:
The effort to promote baseless claims about Louisiana’s elections has ramped up in the past year, as a group affiliated with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has toured local GOP groups to fire people up about what they claim is rampant voter fraud, and slamming Ardoin. A Republican candidate with backing from that group, Brandon Trosclair, had announced he was running to unseat Ardoin.
Ardoin's office said he will finish out his term but will not run for re-election this year so he can spend more time focusing on his family and health.
quote:
Ardoin also drew a challenge from Republican Public Service Commission Mike Francis, R-Crowley, who said he had met with clerks of court from around the state who encouraged him to run.
House Speaker Clay Schexnayder, R-Gonzales, is also expected to announce a bid.
Ardoin’s decision opens up the position to a wide-open field of candidates. It will be the fifth statewide office without an incumbent running this year, along with governor, attorney general, treasurer and insurance commissioner.

This would be a DISASTER for the state.

wasnt he the rino that has been pushing like hell every single year to have dominion be in charge of our elections?

frick Kyle. I lost all respect for him. He also was and has been anti-Trump. I guess Dominion cut him off from the buffet line.

K. Ardoin, another example of the "Peter Principle".
Another fine example of how a lobbyist can rise to levels far beyond his skill level.

How can anyone vote for anyone that obese? He has no self control.

Anyone know Mike Francis’s platform for Sec of State?
I know Trosclair is running as well.

GOOD RIDDANCE! He was all in on censorship.
He wants anyone to be able to use Ballot Marking Devices. That gives them more opportunity for fraud. He absolutely knew that the machines were vulnerable. Those should only be used for the handicapped.
Not cleaning voter rolls.
We need hand marked, hand counted paper ballots only! No machines.

Ardoin is dirty. He knows it’s about to drop.

I think you just generally have to allege fraud in every election from here on out to get elected.

Does New Orleans still vote in the state? Baton Rouge? Opelousas? Then there is fraud.
It is a question of degrees IMHO, given that a lot of these areas have machines which will pay for turnout.

Trump is definitely obese and I’ll probably end up voting for him a 3rd time. What a dumb comment

Sure, there was Dominion and his apparent insistence for authoring RFP's that favored them.
But the final nail for him that few, if any, will even go near is that he's another casualty of the abortive recall attempt here to get rid of Cantrell; and what was crouching, waiting to ambush him in the near future.
First, he was put in the public position he feared most of being seen dictating to a black female politician - our Registrar Wilson, which involved a very weak agreement/capitulation regarding the temporary removal of erroneous names from the rolls here.
First they discussed removing 42,000 names (temporarily).
Then that was revised down to 25,000.
Then more capitulation by Ardoin revised the number down to a meager 5,000.
With the understanding that all would continue to be on the rolls for future elections regardless of their ineligibility - when the true number who should be removed likely exceeds 70,000.
There would come a future time when he wouldn't be able to dance around this embarrassing situation any longer.
In the process, Ardoin wound up displaying to the world an image and aura of weakness challenging even what Republican leadership have already established for themselves.
So he believes he's alienated enough blacks, and whites in his own party, for him to suddenly realize that it's a good move now to "spend more time with his family and improve his health."
Someone as craven as he should have never been in that position.
But he thought he could leave Orleans to its own devices and remain insulated, therefore unscathed by it.
Turned out he couldn't. It would still be there waiting for him.
Also, him joined at the hip with Dominion didn't exactly contribute to a positive image either.

They would be counted at the precincts. These are smaller numbers of ballots and they would still need to match the poll books. There could be watchers. With this, there is no risk that a machine is changing your vote.

You think AZ is bad….let Clay Schexnayder anywhere near this office and see what happens.

No it doesn't.
This is the system we need to replace the machines.

It’s a sad commentary watching people bash anyone they don’t completely agree with politically.. his job has and is running ejections statewide.. we hear all about the BS going on throughout the country yet our elections are held on time and results released quickly Kyle’s not perfect but he has done a good job when you take a step back and look objectively at our system
Our voting system is needing to be updated and the voting systems available and supported are limited, thusly it is a matter of fact that dominion will be involved within the process at some point.
