A veteran of Korea and Vietnam. He was also an Army boxing champion back in the day. His arms were covered in those old military tattoos from back in the day. He refused to tell us the stories of his tattoos as I think they were just too personal for him to share. From his extensive time in Japan, Korea and SE Asia he was also proficient in jiu-jitsu and karate. The man was a true badass. I will miss him badly. He was 93.

A cool little story about his youth. He was born in Rochester, PA and when he and my Uncle Donny (RIP) were kids they'd climp up the bridge between Bridgewater and Rochester and dive in the Beaver River. People would knock on my grandmothers door to tell her and she'd say "what do you want me to do? Dive in after them?

RIP, Uncle Dick. You will be sorely missed.

Sounds like he lived a great life, and that's all we can ask of ourselves. 93, damn I hope my dad makes it that far in good cognitive health.

Funny story about Dicks

We had a family of them in our neighborhood, dad and son were both named Dick.

Dad went by "Big Dick" and son "Little Dick"

He used to introduce himself as Big Dick. At 6'5" and about 225 he definitely looked the part.
