The problem with this is that some of the places you most need to defend yourself are prohibited places. Universities are no-go as relates to guns, so you better have adequate armed security at these political hot button speeches. Namely if the speaker is conservative. The party of peace won’t tolerate it.

well in just a single decade things that were fringe and/or heavily in dispute have become mainstream without any good reason for this to be the case, and if you refuse to bow at the alter of what seems really silly, there are those accusing you of human rights violations and threatening violence

These attitudes ultimately hurt the silent majority in each minority grouping as they are now cast in the same light as the insane.
