Depends on what you want. If you need a box safety who can blitz and affect the run game, Landry, Adams, Delpit are all great choices. Reid, Jones, Steltz are your more traditional safety’s who control the back end.

It’s Casanova, and it ain’t close! You bunch of young whipper snappers

I'd say Casanova but he played CB at LSU. He was a safety in the NFL.
Probably Adams or Landry after that. Then maybe Chad Jones.

Up vote for use of the term whipper snappers.

Chad was by far the most overrated. Landry, Steltz, Adams were all better just to name a few. Jones has a critical sack vs Bama and a memorable punt return TD. That’s it.

Not old enough to have seen Casanova
Casanova was a corner or rather not a traditional safety. He would always cover the best Wr.

Played Safety, corner, and RB until Art Cantrelle showed up. He was 6’2” - 200lbs.
Also on his 1971 squad was (defense) Warren Capone, Ronnie Estay, Tyler LaFauci (offense) Andy Hamilton, Al Coffee, and Bert Jones.
Finished 9-3 his Sr Year.

Give me:
1. Greg Jackson
2. Laron Landry
3. Jamal Adams
in that order.

Yep and the best DB in LSU history. People will say its Pat Pete but the resume says TC37

Greg Jackson. That's the guy I was trying to remember from Arnsparger's team. He won a Super Bowl or two with the Giants. He definitely needs to be on the list and ahead of Chad Jones. Jones is probably no. 5 or 6 on my list.
However, Chad Jones is the best Safety / Relief Pitcher combo LSU ever had.

Tommy Casanova, the only three time, first team All American in LSU history.

Tommy Casanova - such an all around athlete and his buddy, Craig Burns wasn't chopped liver
