Yeah it’s a rule in other sports. She had to walk up to the ball to retrieve it then tossed it off the court.

I do think it was a petty call.

No, it was a ridiculous call

It was a call that is made on a regular basis be it high school, college, or professional. You simply can’t throw the basketball out of bounds in a fit of frustration and expect to get away with it..

Anyway, neither that call nor the hand gesture stuff had any impact on the outcome of the game. As coach said, this game was decided in the second quarter, and Iowa could never overcome what happened in that quarter.

I somewhat understand, but they had already ignored Clark's 4th foul when she smacked Reese with 2 hands and the ball went out of bounds. She was no where near the ball. Iowa couldn't defend. Your post was great on offense but she couldn't guard our posts. Your bench did not show up while your stars were sitting, ours did. Your star let it get to her head, our stars adjusted in the 2nd half! I know it's tough but that's the bottom line. Please stop defending a bonehead play. She lost it, it happens, she's a young adult, she'll be better!

It was a stupid and cheap call in that situation. One in a long line of many bad calls made by a bad crew.

It was also a dumb move by Clark.

It is 100% written in the NCAA basketball rulebook that the call the ref made was 100% the right call after a warning had already been issued. I'm sure Clark didn't know about the warning that's on her coaches and ultimately her.

Regardless of if there was a warning or not she has to know as the Naismith Player of the Year that in that situation you cannot do that you have to keep your cool.

The only person that could, or should, have prevented that call was Caitlyn Clark herself.

Evidently Iowa was warned in the third quarter for delay of game and when Clark didn’t throw the ball to the ref, she got the T.
Let’s put away this part of the BS.
Delay of game penalties are against the team, not the player. The explanation from the refs makes no sense. They had to be calling her for unsportsmanlike behavior.

The refs were horrible all game.
