Afternoon gents,

My wife and I are heading into BR for a night as she takes her NCLEX exam tomorrow morning. We received a Ruth Chris gift card as a wedding present and do not have one locally so we are planning to use it tomorrow while in town (we're about 2 hours west of BR). Any must haves on the menu? Dress attire necessary? Planning on going around lunch time. Thanks,

Filet is a must. Creamed spinach is good too.

Slacks/chinos and a button down or better. Don’t be that guy in your church jeans.

Did you check for reservations? They are hard to get into even at lunch, but lunch is at least easier than dinner with just 2 people. May just be at the bar worst case.

My meal there is 1. Lobster Bisque, 2. Ribeye medium rare with a side of mashed potatoes. The calimari is awesome if you require a second appetizer.

Dress - well, they let people in there that should be ashamed of what they are wearing but business casual is my minimal for walking in there.

Gotta get the tuna app. Crab stuffed mushrooms are great too but the seared tuna is a must get.
I hear the chopped salad is good but I can never break away from their Caesar. It's my favorite Caesar salad in the world.
Filet or the porterhouse for 2 for your meat

I usually drink about 3-4 of their new york sours every time. So fricking good.

Make sure, when they ask if you are celebrating anything, to say that you are celebrating your wedding. That will give you a free blueberry cheesecake (although you can opt for a different free dessert).

Dress in business casual and you'll be fine

It's a chain restaurant in Baton Rouge. Don't overthink it.

When the wife and I go it's usually the ribeye for me, filet for her and 2 sides----creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin.

Toss in a cocktail or two for me and a glass of wine or two for the wife and we've never gotten as far as dessert with being so full from the meal.

Also, I typically ask for my steak on a cold plate so it doesn’t keep cooking on the table.

The hot plate probably isn’t an issue for most people, but I like mine really rare and it cooks too long if I just leave it on that plate.
