Highlander. But I value reliability first and foremost over the bells and whistles of the two mentioned in the OP.

Anyone driven a Toyota Highlander hybrid? Thoughts?
Engine pretty damn weak. I just got the v6 one figuring our son would eventually inherit it in 8 years since it’s a Toyota

We have a Subaru Ascent and are very happy with it.

If you read my post a few up.. this was the Toyota I Test Drove. Its a great vehicle, but it was over $40k and it was a little too much "plasticy" on the inside for me so I passed on this one.

Older hand-me-down vehicles are perfect for new drivers. My youngest daughter is getting her mom's 11 yr old Accord this summer.
Yeah it's a little old but it only has 87k miles on it and I know the maintenance has been solid. I couldn't buy anything that I trust that much for sub 10k

I’ve got a 23 Telluride SXP X—Pro that I got in January.
Had a 2017 Tahoe that I had gotten new and it was a piece of shite. The Telluride thus far has been the best suv I’ve ever owned. There’s no doubt it’s smaller than the Tahoe but it feels roomier inside. Shitload of upgrades that you can’t even get in a Tahoe.
Warranty beats anything else around. 10 year 100k power train, 5 year 60k bumper to bumper, 5 year 60k roadside.

We were thinking about this, but really wanted that 3rd row so we went with the CX-9.
We love it. Good safety ratings, too.

Following. But holding out for lower prices
Got my eye on the Mazda cX9

Pretty sure Mazda is coming out with a new Cx-90 model suv

2023 all new Honda Pilot

I've rented Chevy Traverse a couple of times for work and am thinking about buying one.
Mazda Cx-9 is also one I was looking at.

The CX9 is basically the CX5 with a 3rd row
I actually think it has more power than the CX5 which by the way the CX5 is nothing to brag about for power but it gets the job done in Atlanta traffic

We have a 22 highlander. We replaced a 2015 highlander that we bought in 2014. We did 8 years and 150000 miles with no problems. Paid 33k for the 2015 and got 18k on the trade. Only thing we changed was oil every 10k, 1 new battery, and 1 set of new tires. So 11.6 cents per mile total cost minus insurance and gas. We paid 45k for the 2022, but it is loaded.

I was in this situation and stumbled across a Buick enclave with captain seats for second row . Have enjoyed this car a lot and haven’t had any issues

I don’t know anyone with a midsize who uses the 3rd row. If you need the 3rd row you need a full size.

Buick Enclave
6 year old and 2 year old in captains
8 year old in the back

I bought my wife a 2023 telli SX Prestige back in November
What are you wanting to know exactly? It's nice, but its like a 50k KIA which I have a hard time grasping

Honda’s are solid commuters as well. The engines and drivetrains are extremely reliable.

Apparently Tahoes are $40k in Livingston parish. I’d check there.

Highlander Platinum Hybrid is legit. And it has the turbo I4 which is a good engine. My only hesitation is on the battery life but the warranty is longer than the rest and reviews say 200k. The lower end Highlanders won’t be near as nice inside. You’re paying for the reliable engine. But if you jump up to the higher end models it’s crazy nice.
