I’m really surprised the fake numbers in India wasn’t exploited. Feels like that was a much bigger deal and they just “buried it on a big news day”. That should have shut the deal down immediately.

Interview with Matthew Macfadyen on Shiv
Variety
Also an interview with Jesse Armstrong on the fates of Kendall, Shiv, and Roman
Yahoo
Also an interview with Jeremy Strong on the weird hug between Kendall and Roman

No! But I might be wrong. I don’t know, because it’s Sarah’s thing, but I think it’s just that she can’t stomach her brother. She goes to the board meeting to vote to block the deal, and also she’s just been royally betrayed by Matsson. There’s something in her that snaps, or that sort of curdles, when she sees him stand up — her brother as CEO — and make that speech. And she can’t do it.

I don’t think it’s calculated. I don’t think it’s like, “Oh, I can align myself with Tom.” Yeah, I think it’s just like [jerks awake] — she’s changed her mind

I also think I’m doing that because I know that’s what he needs in that moment,” Strong said of his impression of the sequence. “[Roman] wants to be hurt. He wants to be hurt, because that’s how we [as a family] recognize love. That’s what our father gave to us, that’s what our mother gave to us. It’s a warped love expression.”

I personally loved the ending, I don't think any sibling should've won but if I had to pick it would be Kendall. Each sibling in the boardroom, over just a few moments, showed why each of them isn't fit for the job.
Some are saying Shiv came out on top but I don't really see it that way. Tom has all the power in the relationship now, a role reversal from the beginning of the series, and Shiv's every move has essentially backfired on her. I could've easily seen the next season opening with Tom signing a bunch of paperwork around lawyers and instead of it being CEO business it turns out to be divorce papers.
I do also really like how open they left everything, we know who won the CEO crown but don't have the slightest idea what happens next. Something about it not feeling permanent sat really well with me. It wasn't really about the end result, more so the moves each character took to try and get more power each craved by their own motivations.
Pretty eager to do a rewatch of the final season again soon. I'm not a huge fan of most finales but this one was a hit.

I'm kind of surprised Tom took Greg back after Greg gave that info to Ken.
Greg did exactly what Tom would have done in that situation and it gives him one more thing to hold over Gregs head. I mean Tom has groomed him to be his lacky.
I didn't think it was going to happen but I was team Greg. I'm just happy none of the kids got it.
This wasn't my favorite season but I'm going to have to go back and watch the whole series again. I'm sure there are a lot of details that will show up in hindsight.

I did too. They could never appease everybody with the writing but as far as intensity and anticipation I was literally on the edge of my seat for an hour and a half

Doesn’t Greg still have the information about the cruise stuff that he could hold over Tom’s head? I don’t think Tom has him completely by the balls like everyone thinks.

And I don't think Tom even knows that is still around. Good for Greg the Egg.

here was MM in the article linked above...

I feel like people are going to shout “You won!” at you on in the streets now.
It’s a funny thing — because it’s not winning anything. I mean, that’s sort of missing the point by a million miles. Not to be literal, but it’s like, winning what? It’s just another move in a corporate nightmare.

Just want to say fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck Shiv.
One of my least favorite characters from any show or movie ever. Worse than Cersei, worse than Danaerys, worse than Scarlet White, or Big Swede from Hell on Wheels, or any other character that I can think of at the moment.
Complete shite human being with no talent, no brains, nothing.

I can't decide if it's a negative as far as judging the show or not but none of the siblings characters had any character arc or growth at all. There were spits and sputters but for the most part and at the end they were exactly the same at the beginning as they were at the end

I feel like Roman had growth from the beginning. He was pure frickboy to start the show but did mature some.
And at the very least matured enough to recognize by the end he isn't it and that his life is likely much better cashing out of the business.

It’s a part of their character. Spoiled rich kids who are essentially still immature adult children. We see it all the time in the real world. They suck.

I watched a great interview on this. Jesse Armstrong has a very cynical view that people are doomed to repeat themselves. That is what bears out in the writing and why none of the characters truly change. They were molded by their childhood and they are stuck in a shell.
It’s actually really sad and miserable. Kendall is irreparably broken.
Roman seems like he might be swallowed into a vortex of booze, drugs, and perverse behavior.
Shiv is now the wife of the CEO who she believes is beneath her in every way. But she is now reliant on him for any power. It’s a loveless marriage. She is about to have a baby that she probably doesn’t even want. Remember what her mom said about her being a mother.

I actually thought he had the best outlook out of the three. He seemed relieved that it was over.

Same. I kinda got the impression of hope with Roman. He always felt the need to do this but likely didn’t feel comfortable doing it.

It makes sense. Characters don't always need a growth arc to make a compelling story. You could even argue Kendall and Shiv had a negative growth arc from when we met them--though Kendall's was a rollercoaster. Kendall was a success story for bouncing back from addiction and in-line to be the CEO and Shiv had a budding political career, before ultimately getting pulled into the family business/drama. In the end, their family issues and relationships with their dad was too much to overcome.
I also agree that Roman seemed to be the only one that finally realized it and came to grips with their fate--perhaps a vortex of booze, drugs, and perverse behavior is what he really wanted all along.

I've gone back and watched the first 1.5 episodes so far and I'm actually surprised how much of a sympathetic figure Kendall is presented as
He's 3 years sober and they have been operating on a plan of him taking over as CEO for 18 months then out of the blue his dad rips it out from under him for no real reason and really doesn't even tell him about it just others
THEN Logan has his brain hemorrhage and yes Kendall remains ambitious but the core executives really push him into taking over the temporary CEO spot when he really doesn't even want to get into it bc he's worried about his dad. The core executives rightly explain to Kendall how while it's unfortunate, because of market concerns, they basically have to talk about it. The core wants to follow the established plan (at least established until about 5 minutes ago) of Ken being new CEO and going that route. Ken reluctantly takes this notion to his siblings who
Flip out on him for being a monster and ambitious during this difficult time and of course they don't want him to be acting CEO anyways
Obviously we have always known Logan is the one who really fricked up the kids but it's interesting right after the finale going back and seeing how Kendall at the beginning of the series was mostly (Vaulter fiasco aside) acting compentently and in a professional manner AND not being extremely cut throat and selfish as we'd see later on while Logan was acting pretty petulantly on his own whim. Frank even seems to have some confidence in Kendall at the beginning . I will keep rewatching but this sequence I assume helps turn Kendall into the selfish monster he becomes. You can tell he's really trying to act in as unselfish way as anyone could expect so far
Key words......SO FAR...

Just watched the finale
Holy shite what a letdown. So predictable from Shiv.
She’s an absolute piece of dogshit.
Roman never had the stomach for the fight.
It should have ended with Kendall getting his dads company. That ending fricking sucked so bad
