So do we then begin to round up every juvenile criminals parents and put them on trial for their inaction or accessory their children’s crimes?

Obviously not completely apples to apples but the basis is parents being held Responsible for the heinous actions of their offspring.

This was over the top negligence imo so in this case I'm ok with it.

There's a huge gulf between parents legitimately not knowing and parents who seemed to have been actively trying to do all of the wrong things when it comes to a clearly troubled kid like that. These two had no intentions of being actual parents and making the tough decisions to do what needed to be done to prevent this.

Charge them with everything possible and let the courts sort it out. They earned it.

No, I don't think so.

But this is what sets up the case, IMO. We have to have discussions with my son for not listening and that's minor. I would never text him something like that.

Only if they’re white males & it’s a gun related crime

Yes

Accountability is no longer an art form.

Make bad parenting hurt.

Maybe not 100% all but probably most would be fair because they either failed at parenting/disciplining, neglected them or otherwise directly caused or enabled them to commit these crimes...

I'm all for it if parents start parenting their kids.

Days before the shooting, a teacher allegedly saw Ethan Crumbley researching ammunition in class, and the school contacted his parents but they didn't respond, according to prosecutors. But Jennifer Crumbley did text her son, writing, "lol, I'm not mad at you, you have to learn not to get caught," according to prosecutors.

Hours before the shooting, prosecutors said a teacher saw a note on Ethan Crumbley's desk that was "a drawing of a semi-automatic handgun pointing at the words, 'The thoughts won't stop, help me.' In another section of the note was a drawing of a bullet with the following words above that bullet, 'Blood everywhere.'"

The Crumbleys were called to the school over the incident, and said they'd get their son counseling, but they did not take him home, prosecutors said.

I don't know man. It's not really apples to apples. If my kid is telling me and everybody he sees that he's gonna shoot up the school, and is then drawing pictures with all this inflammatory language and I do nothing - I'd expect to shoulder a lot of the blame.
