Truly wept, not shed a tear or two, or become emotionally, choked up or misty eyed…

Was thinking of other things when I created this, forgetting about my fine furry friend I had to say goodbye to

Most recently, having to put my chocolate lab down at 10 due to kidney issues. He went with me from college to a young professional, loyal to the end.

Dog dying about 10 years ago.

Honestly, it's a very healthy thing to do. You feel so much release. We should all probably weep a couple times a year, I just don't know how to make myself

Night my dad died, August 6, 2019. Which also happens to be my middle daughter’s birthday, so it was incredibly difficult knowing she will always associate her birthday with the day her Pappy died…….

Listening to my dad eulogize his sister who died much too early from ovarian cancer a couple years ago. It was one of the best speeches I've ever heard. It was strange that I didn't cry for my grandparents' funerals the year before when they died from the Vid, but they were old and had lived a full life.

But my aunt was taken before her time, well before her time. She had such a spirit for life, and two young grandchildren that were under 8 years old. And I guess I was coming to the realization that when my dad was my age at that time, that he had less than 10 years left with his dad and that I could be the one up there speaking about my dad at truly any moment.

Three weeks ago. I went to meet my Dad's new "Lady Friend" in New Orleans and before I headed back to BR I decided to stop at my Mom's grave. I cried like a baby next to her grave site that day. I want my dad to be happy but I didn't think I would feel this way.
