Per Golf Week.

Interesting that LIV will try to put out their own viewing numbers which will not natchup with Neilsen numbers.

Who cares? LIV will end up being like the AFL or USFL was to the NFL. It will force the PGA to put out a better product.

I looked at the leaderboard of LIV and i gotta say it looked a lot better than the leaderboard of the Valspar. I’m no LIV fan but they have some names. I also like the team thing band wish the players could represent a city or something to create a rooting interest.

I honestly don’t think the guys who incessantly white knight for LIV watch LIV tournaments either.

I don’t really know what you are getting at…I was simply saying they had a lot more recognizable names last week than the Valspar. Now some of that is bad because it’s washed up guys who used to be studs and I’ve been watching pro golf for 30 years. The future studs of golf are not there but on the pga tour or Korn Ferry tour or Asian or DP tour…we just don’t know them yet.

Not a white knighter, but the telecast is pretty awful and the music is annoying as hell. I would like to watch, but it's dreadful. And put on some long pants and get off my lawn.

Friends of mine that were all anti PGA and Pro LIV don't watch for these very same reasons. They all say the broadcast is horrible.

Watched some of the Tuscon and posted my thoughts in a different thread. Very small sample size of me watching but...

Watched some LIV for the first time ever. Caught the playoffs and that was it.

I thought the team aspect was kind of dumb originally but I actually don't mind it. The four guys in the playoffs whole team were there watching at the end. There seems to be a little bit of healthy team competition and camaraderie (though they need to mix the teams up). After the win Danny said that he likes it because even if you're out of competition for the win, every shot still matters. Which is true considering the financial boost of a team win as well.

I don't know how often they do it but the overhead drone camera angle with a pin drop showing where each players ball is is a pretty good idea. That view gives you a nice look at just how much farther they might be from one another and you can see the difficulty of the shot/who has the better angle much better. PGA tour needs to add that imo.

David Feherty was a national treasure for a lot of golf fans, I've never liked him. He has always been one of my least favorite announcers in all of sports. I'm sure everybody hates him now that he switched. But he fits in well with the laid back theme. Overall the broadcast was just fine.

PGA seriously needs to let guys wear shorts if they want to. It is such a dumb rule.

I don't get why seeing guys wear shorts is odd for some. Do any of yall play in pants? Even when I play in tournaments I'm wearing shorts, like 99% of the people playing. Can't remember the last time I wore pants playing golf (outside of wintertime). It's not like they are out there in gym shorts. The joggers that some of the PGA guys wear are more casual than the shorts these guys are wearing.

I can see the music being a turnoff to viewers though. You definitely do hear it on the broadcast and I don't think many people want to watch golf and at the same time thinking "God I hate this song." Seemed like it was only on the teebox though, could be wrong on that. I didn't hear it while they were putting.

I originally thought the pants thing was stupid and players should be allowed to wear shorts. Then I saw what it looked like and immediately reversed my decision. If that makes me a get off my own type so be it

The below just doesn’t feel right when watching

Same with baseball players having to wear hates in some stadiums. Unnecessary, but it wouldn’t look right without the hats

Glad I'm not the only one confused why I prefer seeing the pros wear pants instead of shorts. The background music is another odd thing in the broadcast.

The broadcast seems like they're trying to outline why they're "better" than the PGA at every turn.

I think it's going to be difficult to overcome the history aspect of the PGA. The courses they're playing on LIV, nobody has a reference point as to how difficult they are. None of the holes are known cutthroat holes, none of the courses seem more prestigious than the others.

I want the pros wearing pants and collared shirts. I hate the mock turtleneck shirt tiger wore.

No but they are losing money. A lot of it. I don’t care how much you have, losing money year after year will eventually get old when they could buy more soccer teams or formula 1 teams and actually make money or break even.

They made the news headlines they wanted to make but that’s all it will be. You can’t take a niche sport and fracture the fan base in half and expect to turn a profit.

I watched some of the last round, but the PGA played a good tourney, so stayed mostly w/ the PGA as I mostly do except when it's a weak field tourney.

But you also had Basketball tourney, so I had 3 pc screens going, but mostly watched the competitive games, so it was kinda hard to focus on thing.

I wonder there zero talk about the WGC here though? I find it weird the LIV haters prefer to talk LIV and not about your beloved PGA. Weird
