Why Shouldn’t Willie be Fired?

Genuinely interested in hearing a reason why he should be retained for year 3.
His “offensive” philosophy is non-existent. We don’t run and gun, we aren’t a half court set play team, we don’t run motion and off ball screens, etc.
We give 0 effort on defense. We are constantly outscored in the paint. We give up a ton of offense rebounding. We are terribly at help side and get burned on corner 3’s.
For a “motivator” everyone seems to be moping around and uninterested. We come out flat most games, even early in the year when we were winning.
Willie seems to be a great guy, but he is a terrible coach in over his head. He has to go.

If the motivator angle is gone he's got nothing to offer. I suspect he gets another year though.

1) Griff has a horrible track record hiring head coaches.
2) I think they might still be paying SVG, so I doubt they pay Willie to go away too when he has just one year left.
3) you guys always act like any change will be an improvement and it can’t get worse. See #1.

Who would we get?seems like it’s a coaching carousel of bad coaches that all small market teams get. I like Willie especially how we ended last season and was playing early this season. I do think we need to get rid of BI and get another “ star” player that can finish. Also Willie had to deal with the injuries particularly Zion. We keep Zion because the franchise is making millions off his name. Hopefully he can come back healthy next season. I say give Willie one more year

He’s going to get a ton of run for last year’s playoff run even after people realize the team ended up with a losing record.
Willie is simply not a good enough coach to handle this team. He’s made no adjustments to fit the talent and has run his players into the ground despite other options to reduce their load.
Reality is that they had a good run, but these last few weeks are basically back to where they were at the start of last year.

He’s been outcoached for sure this calendar year.

Game turned on the BI strip and 3. Just can not be that nonchalant with the ball in crunch time. That’s not on Coach Green, but being so stubborn making the game needlessly close is. Coach Green continues to double down on full time small ball with Val/Nance at the pivot with the same results. Pels got out rebounded by near 20!

What are we paying for Mike Dantoni for? We also need a vet coach as an assistant to teach Willie what he is doing wrong.

Big problem is, well, Griff
What well respected vet coach wants to come play for micromanaging Griff? We have Willie not because he was our first choice, but because coach after coach backed away from our offers or interest. Griff has earned a reputation as a micromanager and someone that will preach family as he is driving the bus over your corpse. If I’m a respected vet coach why do I want to come be the next man up for a guy like Griff? On a team that can’t seem to stay healthy, a GM that can’t seem to balance a roster, and if the team struggles I’d be the desired fall guy to save the GM?
I think we are starting to see the path dependencies of bad GM decisions from years past piling up.
Honestly, I think it Gayle has any sort of actual savvy, at most we get one more season due to the injuries and if this team is not in the second round, Griff AND Willie need to go. And the next GM gets a blank slate.
