Having an issue with the above. Ranger is incredibly hard to start and must use ether to get it started. Once running, idles fine. Bogs at top end and max speed is 35 at 5200 RPM

Google searches led me to replace fuel pump yesterday. Still same deal as above. Drove it today and smells like it’s running very rich.

Took fuel line of at pump and at motor to make sure fuel is coming out at both ends and it is. Aid box is clean. Finally ran almost all fuel out of it that I had added sea foam too.

Any thoughts? I am going to check spark plugs again but it was tuned up a few months ago and used maybe 3-5 times until last week.

Are both cylinders firing?

Sounds like mice.

check throttle position sensor. It can either be bad or incorrectly tuned and will make them run very oddly.

My 800XP was topping out at 30 MPH at 4800 RPM on level service and was struggling with power going up hill. I changed the oil & filter and air filter with no change in performance.

Found that 1 of the spark plugs was broken in half after talking with a friend who had seen similar performance before.

2 new plugs and it's cruising at 50 MPH and plenty of power up hill.

Check the fuel pressure with a gauge. Should be around 58psi

this is going to sound crazy, make sure the seatbelt is clicked. my buddies did that to me during hunting season when I used it. I put the seat belt on and it ran fine wide open. its a safety switch. it may not be your issue but it fixed his.

Takes air, fuel, and ignition. Tough to make combustion without all three!
