Did a search and didn’t find a thread.

Brenden Fraiser was amazing in this flick. Easily the best performance of the year.

This is a VERY tough watch. It’s downright painful on so many levels. I found myself in tears quite often.

With that said, it’s a good movie, a very good movie. It’s a hard fricking watch, but well worth the anguish.

Sounds like every Darren Aronofsky movie

It was one of the toughest movies I’ve ever sat through, but it was very well done. The layers, subtext, and character development were superb.

I am glad I watched it, but I can’t imagine watching it again.

He's still being abused. This is his punishment for speaking up about it. Humiliation.

Uh huh. That’s why they gave him an Oscar. To humiliate him.

Checks out.

Yes. To draw as much attention and humiliate him as much as possible.

When you're on the inside and you know it's rigged and fake, you can't feel the supposed prestige. And when stupid fans give it to you, you only feel guilt knowing you didn't really earn it, there's not anything to earn.

I don’t know what’s funny about being able to identify and embrace emotion. I’m almost 50yrs old and spent enough time downrange and as single dad to a little girl that I am perfectly okay with feeling. I’ve spent enough time not feeling for my tastes.

Chicken needs to fix this damn search feature, lol.

Sorry for cluttering the board with another thread, fellas.

Agreed, really liked it.. the character's arc reminded me of several people in my life and hit pretty hard.. don't think I can watch it again

I can also see why people hate it, but I think it's gonna be a movie that gains popularity over the years as more people see it.

One thing I found a little distracting in this movie is when it's obvious that it's based on a stage play. Someone dramatically turns around during a conversation, etc.

I think Aronofsky did this sort of thing better in The Wrestler, but I liked both (and pretty much all of his movies).

The movie was bad. The performance was good. The performance was not Oscar-winning good. Austin Butler should’ve won

Fraser deserved to win.

Colin Farrell was better than Austin Butler.. it wasn't a Top 5 leading actor performance this year IMO.

If they make another movie where he's just fat, drugged up, young girls, Memphis mafia shithead Elvis and nails it, I'll give Butler more credit but there's been at least 5 better performances of Elvis off the top of my head I can think of and I'm including Andy Kaufman, maybe even Bruce Campbell in Bubba Ho-Tep

Great for BF but I’ll likely never see this flick.

It wasn’t made for me, as the folk in Hollywood love saying.
