My best advice when visiting NYC in the winter

Before you book a room, ask if the hotel is steam heated or does each room have its own unit.
Don’t book if it’s steam heated. We had to completely turn the heat off in the room, leave the windows open (they opened about 4”), and the hotel had fans to give out, which we left in the window to pull the cold air in.
This was the Millennium Hotel in Time Square, not so roach motel.
NYC and it’s steam heating, frick that shite.

Had a similar experience in a steam-heated London hotel one December. It was about 40 outside, but we kept the window open round the clock to keep from being cooked.

I believe that last post was the first. So including this one....twice?
Although I must add, of course you would stay in Times (not Time) Square. That's incredibly on brand.

I fully believe that on vacation he keeps his wallet, ID, etc in a leather fanny pack he bought at a garage sale.

I always get Cousin Eddie vibes from antique. A ton of weird energy and unearned confidence with nothing to support it.

That trip to Italy with his daughter when he wanted to stay in hostels. Yikes.

“I’m in Rome looking for a place to have dinner in the next few hours. frick planning in advance that’s for suckers. So I came to a Louisiana based website. I don’t need suggestions I need direct links.”

Was he the guy that planned an Italy trip for 18 months and came to the conclusion that visiting St. Peter’s wasn’t worth the effort bc they have other churches in Italy that have less crowds?

Wait. Hang on. You’re telling me you went all the way to the Big Apple and didn’t have to ask where to have a Jewish person (because there’s nothing weird about that request) yell at you in a deli?
I don’t think that’s actually possible.

You better never travel to Europe then.

It wasn't so much the questions as it was obvious he'd never traveled internationally. It was that he felt the need to start a new thread everytime a question or concern popped into his head instead of just keeping his original post going.
Plus things like I want cheap accommodations so is it ok for me and my 12 year old daughter to stay in a hostel?

I feel bad ribbing on him but he screams of someone who comes here to brag about a trip under the guise of asking a question.
And takes zero advice of those who do travel.

I still remember his first trip to NYC. He almost dragged his poor daughter to an AirB&B in the middle of a not so nice area of East Harlem.
