Citizen investigating a disturbance outside his property at 4:45 AM is confronted by 14 year old that has two weapons and feels objectively threatened, are you seriously saying there are no circumstances where he can't protect himself from a car thief?

Car theft should have the same penalty that horse theft used to have.

Well, they need to make it LEGAL to shoot anyone breaking into your home, car, etc. or else these rabid dog criminals will one day take over our lives and freedoms we have. We need new laws to protect our families and ourselves!!

Who the frick cares if he was 14, he was on a stealing spree with 2 loaded guns (that could kill your sorry arse very easy) with his other rabid dog pals. I say shoot em all, then this madness will stop!

Or, if there would be tough policies on crime, but no, let em out to keep doing it over and over again

We have the corrupt democrat party to thank for this phuckery. I avoid New Orleans like I avoid herpes.

The criminal justice system can not continually fail in catching and prosecuting criminals, but then start prosecuting citizens that protect their own life and property.

My state, Florida, has had a republican super majority across both branches of legislators for decades, yet basically the same law not allowing you to shoot people in this scenario. Auto theft is not a forcible felony.

Agree — things in Nola are getting tense. The local chatter here is that this guy needs to be released because he did what everyone wants to do to these thuglets.

Yup even the people I follow who typically denounce this want him released. This guy will never be convicted.

So they dropped federal gun charges (how is that even possible?) without even seeing the police report, but are gonna prosecute a guy protecting himself and property from an armed assailant?
