You understand how it doesn't make any sense for OM to try and reschedule this game right? As much as Tech fans may want that, it doesn't make sense. Almost like it's all about perspective.

quote:Funny enough it could be the difference in hosting vs being a #2 seed to the committee. Imagine how much fun that would be if LTU is a #2 seed in Oxford because of one stupid game in March.
Two wins over Ole Miss would be huge for the resume of LA Tech, waterhead.
One win for a 'mid-major' can also be the difference in being an at-large or sitting at home. 40 is the magic number for a mid-major to be safe. 38-39 win mid-majors miss the tournament quite often.

User JasonMason just can’t wrap his little nugget around this. Saying the game is meaningless is a fricking embarrassment.
It’s almost as embarrassing as ducking a LA mid-major, again. As the defending champs no less. Woof.

Was incentive did the Texas softball coach have for not stalling?
Just because you can get off on a technicality doesn’t change the optics.
Once again, you may disagree and that’s fine. But it isn’t just Tech fans. If it was just Tech fans, this wouldn’t be a story today.

You're unhinged dude. Go outside. Breathe in some fresh air. You're a fricking nut.
You probably have some travel ball umps to assault from Jextins tourney last weekend.

Are you though? Or is it another manic episode? It just means more!
You sound like a loser bud.

I always enjoy the 'melt' 'you're so obsessed' coming from posters with posts every five minutes over bad pub for a school they most likely didn't graduate from.

These aren't weird college rules, though. MLB uses the same basic rules, and even if the two teams were playing again the next day it would have been declared an official game with the 4-3 score holding up. They only resume games if it's not a full 5 innings or if the score is tied at the end of the last completed inning.
Will never forget the rangers and Yankees in 2016 went into a rain delay in one of the first two of a three-game series. Rangers down 1 I believe in the 9th and Chapman is in. Rangers get two on immediately and it starts pissing rain.
Girardi kept talking to Chapman on the mound and was telling the ump he was worried about safety regarding Chapman having to grip a wet ball, like I said, it was a downpour.
Ump, like it was on command, goes into a delay. Banister is red hot and starts going after the umps and Girardi shortly afterwards. Tells them all they’ll wait all night to finish the game. They waited 3.5 hours.
Game eventually started again at 2:15 am and the Rangers ripped off four runs and eventually closed the Yankee trash out in the bottom.
ETA: SI link outlining the events
Any ‘suspended’ or ‘abandoned’ baseball game is a joke and separates those looking for loopholes to win from those willing to compete for a fair outcome on the field of play.

Weren’t they in Oxford? So Tech would have been the team that had to travel, and they’re probably willing to
I’m sure if Tech wanted to there are dates where them and Ole Miss can finish the game
And Bianco hiding behind their administration is cringe. He’s a national champion, been there damn near a quarter century, and probably has a contract for life. At this point whatever he says in regards to baseball there goes

I was listening to the game on radio. It was raining before the game was stopped.
So, yes, the game wasn't stopped because of rain but it was raining when the game was stopped, so the field should have been tarped.

quote:Everyone with any sense knows this “offer” was made because their bitch coach knew neither of us could actually pull off an additional midweek game this season. So he put it out there knowing that we would say no, and if we said yes he would come back and just say “well unfortunately our schedule is already set and there’s no way to make it happen. We should have just finished that night”.
Come back next week, or later in the season, and finish the game any time Ole Miss was available

Make no mistake about it… LA Tech STOMPED Ole Miss out.

This is an EMBARRASING look for Ole Miss. Hopefully this lunacy will push us going forward in the season. Sometimes anger is a gift. God knows baseball is all we have this year with the way the football & basketball programs have looked.

The Rebs/Black Bears/Land Sharks definitely did not want two losses to LaTech
