For our new DeSantis folks, what DeSantis policies do you support?

I’ve noticed a few noted Democrats/Independents such as Green Chili Tiger, boosiebadazz, and nawlinstiger9 post about their new support for Ron. What DeSantis policies do these folks and others you may know support that Trump didn’t support or opposed?
Curious about the idealogical principles here at play for supporting DeSantis when one didn’t vote for or opposed Trump.

One thing he is getting some play here for and Trump is getting ripped on is the difference on SS/Medicare. Trump sounds like a Dem ("Ron is going to take your money away") and Ron mumbled something about making changes. Other than that, I don't think we really know what his policies would be. GumboPot keeps saying he would be neocon on war, shitty trade deals, and open borders. I disagree on borders, that's a huge part of Ron's identity. But, I suspect Gumbo is right on the other two.

Florida is being invaded like TX. DeSantis and Abbot send the illegals further into the country not out. Desantis doesnt care about the border just like the TX Gov doesnt

I would have preferred to see him come out of the gates on his national debut deal articulating firm positions on where he stands on numerous issues. Instead, we are just getting a lot of typical politico fluff.
I’m not writing him off, but it’s a tad disappointing at best.

He’s going to be tough on crime! Which is pretty worthless

Should he build a wall and get Cuba to pay for it?
Not sure I'd be a fan of the wall on my beach.

Many like the guy because he speaks directly without constantly talking about himself, regardless the issue being discussed. It’s a great place to start for any politician

Right
I’m talking about actual policies that would cause someone to flip from not voting Republican to voting for Ron

I support DeSantis, N, as his policy basis is in line with Trump America First policy. And he is very eloquent in publicly elucidating it, not the 'raw' version like Trump.
Most of the new support is going to Ron because Trump has been so maligned - 24-7 for years by the Leftis MSM - that he has lost the possibility of gullible but valid voters. And there are a lot of family-based women who will NEVER vote for Trump because of his "if you are rich and famous, you can grab them in the p&%^y or do anything" comment. That hit home and went deep.
It's pragmatic. A lot of Trump (policy guided) supporters just think Ron has a better shot at winning given the dynamics. Of course, many on the Right doubt Ron's ability to withstand the Deep State/Globalist attacks if he even gets in. Think McCarthy, and his wobbling on releasing the Jan. 6 stuff.
The Dems will gas light their street if the Right ever shuts them down, and sooner or later the heathen will have to met with force, just like down in Venezuela. And given the 'racism card' here, we all know where that goes.

Mostly maturity, competency, and a base set of first order principles.
What’s your gripe with Ron?

Who knew all it took was demeanor to turn a bunch of far leftist wackos into rock-ribbed conservatives?

I like his brand of conservatism without being a corporate shill. His work on empowering parents in education against some in his own party has been great.

This is where RDS has a huge advantage over Trump.

I don’t have one. I will likely vote for him in the Primary based off his ability to win a general election.
Is that your contention as well? Because what you listed is mostly fluff

His response to Covid vs Trump response of getting sandbagged by a lying little troll and shutting down the worlds biggest economy
Posted on 3/2/23 at 8:42 am to NIH
as a FL resident I greatly appreciated his COVID policies
he reopened far earlier than pretty much every other state
things were pretty much back to normal here while states like CA & NY were still essentially shut down

Yeah. And his ability to win the general is tied to the “fluff” I listed, especially in comparison to Trump
Posted on 3/2/23 at 8:44 am to FearlessFreep
The Dems support him being endorsed by George Soros.
