Ok I thought she brought this to the attention of the police after the shooting and not prior to the shooting- I guess I totally misread this

But what does the video show? If it shows two guys standing in a gym having a verbal argument, that proves jack shite. Just because you have a video showing them talking, or even yelling at each other for that matter, that doesn't make it a crime. Simple Assault is a misdemeanor anyway. The police writing him a Summons wouldn't have done squat to stop this.
Now if the video shows him pulling a weapon on the son, don't you think she would have mentioned that? Back to my original post, victims families invariably want to blame the police because "something should have been done" even though there was nothing the police could legally do. Just not the way it works.
