She was 85. Alligator was going for the dog but it moved faster than she did. RIP.

My girlfriend (no pics) almost got eaten by one when she was a kid. They usually don't mess with you but it's scary when they get pissed

Apex predator, they knew he was in that water. She basically dangled bait in front of the gator and it just did what is in its nature.

frick all that. I’m the fricking apex predator. These animals have lost their fear of man because we’ve been too tolerant and tried to coexist with them. This is the result. Start slaughtering these big lizards again and they’ll regain their healthy dose of fear. As it should be.

Damn. They gator was so well known it was named “Henry”, according to the reporter.

Why did the residents not call to have an 11 foot gator removed?

The woman calling 911 telling them to hurry and then it's too late is what does it for me. Like either you can help, or you can't. Said she tried to throw her a pole. Ain't shite 911 with a 30 minute response time doing for granny being drug around the bottom of a lake.

Once it got a good hold of her it was pretty much over. Maybe a grown man gets away, or a young person fighting with all they've got...but once a big boy like that gets you in the water...well that's pretty much all she wrote

Why was she going so close to the water? Looks like she was offering the gator her dog as a snack.

This is the third time a woman has been killed by a gator in recent years. IIRC, they all died protecting their dogs.

An 11 foot gator is gonna take pretty much what it wants in the water. On land it's still gonna get about 60%.

Hate to say it but the woman wasn't too cognizant of her surroundings. I mean the gator swimming her way was pretty obvious, yet she just stood there for several seconds, totally oblivious. Shouldn't have taken a little dog for a walk next to a gator-infested pond to begin with.

The guy who jumped in the water a few years back and pulled his little dog out of the gator's mouth all without dropping his cigar was a fricking boss.
