New house termite treatment

Got the studs up and about to close in walls. What do I need to spray to prevent termites? The untreated wood part

Did you pretreat before they poured the slab?
Nothing to spray until you finish up.
If you want to get real fancy, they have some in-wall spray distribution systems. Never seen anybody install them though.

Yea ground treatment applied. I’m taking like spraying my walls with something to prevent flying termites. Ground treatment doesn’t prevent flying termites

You can spray the exposed studwork and such with Tim-bor. You will find it at domyown.com or locally. I suggest adding a marker dye to mark where you’ve treated.

Can I use either talstar P or Taurus SC? I have those in hand

You may use either or both. The Tim bor is a boric acid product that will remain present and active for a long time. The pyrethroids will deteriorate much faster. The label and data sheets are available at nisuscorp.com.

Boric acid in the all the exterior walls and then talstar every couple mos on the exterior and you should be good to go. I am in the process of looking at the sentricon treat at the moment. Quotes ranging from $1500 - $2000

Sentricon is great. The problem with any bait for any pest is that they have to consume the bait before eradication can begin; meanwhile they could be munching on your structure without ever encountering the bait. My suggestion is always to liquid treat your structure to label specifications with a Fipronil, Imidacloprid or other treated zone product along with the bait system. It is expensive, but it truly is the best of both worlds.

+1 for Tim-bor or Bora-care. It's an inexpensive but effective barrier that's a no brainer for new construction. Spray the bottom plates and 2 feet up the studs. If you are unlucky enough to get a crack in the slab, the foraging termite will die from the boric acid exposure before alerting the rest of the colony.

I applied about 20lbs of boric acid on all exterior walls after they closed sheeted it.
Just walked along and dumped.
I probably have 1-2 inches between every single stud, around all drains, and so on.
During construction, we had massive rainfall and everyone around us was having crazy ant issues.
They got inside obviously, buy they all died.
I soaked the studs inside and the slab outside, weekly, until they closed it in. When they did, I soaked the slab inside and out.
If a big ever does manage to get in the walls, it's dead.
I keep a 6ft perimeter sprayed monthly around the entire house.

Bora-Care by Nisus Corp. Treat 2’-up with a 1:1 ratio for termites. Goes around .15-.20 cents per square foot around here.

Had a pest control company do it. $.40 per linear foot. Done, no bugs for me

I’m talking about a new construction treatment. Linear footage is used to quote post-construction. Square footage in a used to quote new construction.
That’s how 99% of the companies quote. Also, that’s the way you figure how much chemical you use based on the label.

Nope. They used linear footage for amount to spray entire base floor.

New construction liquid is 1 gallon every 10 square feet. Post liquid is 4 gallons to every 10 linear feet. Read the label. Any.. Taurus, Termidor, Dominion, Premise, Talstar, etc.. new construction bora-care is 2’ up on all wood stud walls. 1 gallon of concentrate does an average of 1500 square feet on new construction walls.
