Ron DeSantis (or any politician) isn't going to help Louisiana "turn the corner". It's not something one person can do.
You've got an ingrained system of political corruption. It's improving, but we're no where near turning the corner.
You've got limited opportunities for intelligent young people, so they move out of state to seek better opportunities.
You've got unlimited frickers, literally, who are willing to reproduce another generation of poorly educated citizens living on the dole.
Then you've got the feral hoodrat problem who have no respect for the law, others, or themselves. The grave or Angola is the only corner they're turning. (But not fast enough.)
So, in summation, not No, but frick No.

How is it improving?

The idea that Texas doesn’t have significant political corruption is hilarious.

Louisiana is like Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas. All have an entrenched good ol boy political network that is hard to break and voters seem to be ok with it. It leads to shitty leadership

I have yet to see any proof of this.
