Do "good" men become traitors against their own country?

The Bidens have paid a visit.

It doesn’t seem fair for him to die without distributing the death. I’m sure he’d want everybody else in the country to die a little to pitch in.

Google Carl Sanders
Best I can find is in the 1970 governor race, Carter's press secretary for the campaign referred to Sanders' campaign as a "n-word campaign" because it focused on cities while Carter's focused on rural voters.
Nothing about Carter calling Sanders a n*** lover.

I respect that he believes he's tried to do right in the world but he's been demonstrably wrong on many issues.
Having a mild, friendly demeanor all the while doesn't change my opinion of him though.

There's a couple people in the OT having a meltdown because y'all aren't being nice. Someone should tell them to change their tampon. I would but I don't want to get banned

Carter was proof that it is ... difficult ... for a good person to be an effective President.
In my mind, all the good he did after leaving office tends to offset what a bad POTUS he was.
I hope that in his last days he has quality time with his family and a peaceful, painless end.

Carter was incompetent but not corrupted and compromised. Biden is a stand-alone giant in that comparison.

All that Examiner article shows is that the two campaigns were going after different voters. Standard campaign strategy. For context, read the Carl Sanders wikipedia page. It puts a lot more context around those Examiner bullet points.

This is reasonably close enough to my current position for me to adopt it.
Of course, from a President and policy standpoint he was literally as bad as it gets - as in U.S. Grant, Warren G. Harding, LBJ bad (perhaps not quite as corrupt, but who could be?).
The current President, by comparison is in the running for least competent/most corrupt with a lot of those guys.

Carter also created the two DOEs, the Department of Energy and the Department of Education.
One noteworthy and surprising aspect of Carter’s presidency was the deregulation of the transportation sector and especially the airline sector.
The full effects of 1978’s Airline Deregulation Act was not seen until long after Carter left office, but passenger loads expanded and ticket prices dropped as a result of this initiative.
