Wife and I don’t always want to trek into BR. Where can I get a good steak in denham/wattson?

Last time I went to stabs & got a steak, it felt like it had no salt/pepper/any seasoning & I felt like I could make a better steak at home. Was that just a miss and they normally are good? I’ll give ‘em another shot if they just had an off night when I last went. This was years ago too.

I’ll take central recommendations too though FWIW, that’s only about 15 min from my house compared to about 40 min for anywhere in BR

Longhorn is your answer but you better call fast because it boils up quick.

Texas Roadhouse, I get a better steak, not as expensive and better service there then I get at Longhorn everytime

Close enough, and a better steak than most any place in LP. I live in Denham and I can drive 15 minutes to Stabs or 15 minutes to Longhorn—Im taking Stabs. And still not venturing to Baton Rouge.

I started going to Stabs when it opened. I havent ever really been disappointed. I love steak, and don’t have a problem with Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse, but Stab’s is a level up, imo.

My parents swear by the steak at Dukes in Watson, as well.

Last time I went to Texas Roadhouse on Juban, the food was good but the service was so bad I swore I wouldn’t go back. Could’ve just been that server though

I eat most of my steaks from Bubba’s Grill just north of Walker. Definitely not anything great, but they cook a good piece of meat and have some legit baked potatoes. Supposedly they do a lot of crawfish and fried foods, but the only thing I’ve ever gotten is their steak.

They joined Waitr/ASAP back around 2017 or so, and they’ve been in my monthly or more rotation since then (although I have to do pickup since I live too far away).

Again, probably not the V-Day recommendation you’re looking for, but a decent place for grub otherwise.

I used to feel the same, but the last two times I've been we've had no silverware, slow service, and wrong/missing orders brought to the table. I hope they just hit a little slump and get it together because they were always reasonably priced and steaks were cooked perfectly. Those rolls though!!

Absolutely! Lived out there some years back and steak night was awesome. Seafood plates are great as well.

With a username like this, I bet you aren't eating many meals in BR at all.
