Probably because job numbers were higher than expected during the same period

Oh right, that. Certainly not the trillions spent on omnibus spending and “inflation” bills or the billions a day fighting a proxy war with Russia. Never that.

Inflation and the job numbers have nothing to do with anything Trump or Biden, and everything to do with the mass number of people retiring right now. This sort of environment was expected years ago

TIL Presidents don’t have to sign off on spending bills passed by Congress

Just think what the real number is… they don’t include food and gas which are the two most volatile and meaningful measures to the common citizen. We have been in double digits inflation for a while. Sooner or later they won’t be able to fool anyone

This inflation wasn't and isn't caused by giving people $1200 during Covid or any amount of money to Ukraine. This decade was always going to be an inflationary period with the Boomers retiring in mass. Covid certainly didn't help, but it's not the main reason all of you think it is like at all

Trump had great job numbers, don't recall these inflation numbers during his presidency.

I have a hard time trusting that.

Could they manipulate the formula for calculating CPI in order to cater towards the desired outcome?

They did it with their definition of recession.

WTF ever! We all knew printing money like crazy would result in this. It's basic economics.
