We have the easiest remaining schedule. If we somehow don’t make it, I be surprised

any team with athletic length is a bad matchup for us. Jazz, Grizz, Bucks, even Orlando beat us with their length.

Which is why Hayes still, shockingly, has role on this team, if he could read an offense.

All I know. Is if Zach Edey drops to the second round. His defensive awareness has improved 10 fold since last year. His 7 ft 4 inch frame makes JV look like a 8 year old. His screens are unbelievable. If we can draft Herb as a 3 and d.
Zack is the exact same but in conventional center form.

I know we do not have one. I was bringing up his value on draft charts at the moment.

If if if …

You are just making up hypotheticals to fire a guy.

how so? We have the supposed deepest team in the league with z coming back soonish? You really think his job is safe if we don’t make the play-in with such an easy remaining schedule?

Pelicans were the 1 seed through December or so. What happened after that? And is the coach responsible for that?

I badly want to root for Val but it is so hard to watch this 7 foot man brick shot after shot from right under the goal. I truly don’t understand how it’s possible

Pretty easy to happen when nobody else is boxing out their man and Val js down there with 3 guys draped on him fighting him for the rebound.

So we give him a ton of credit for the first quarter of the season but don’t criticize for the last quarter of the season if we’re mostly healthy during this final stretch and yet still don’t make the play-in? I think the coach does get some blame for that if that happens yes.

Look I think Willie is fine. He can be incredibly stubborn but he has his moments. Griff needs to get players that fit his system tho. Guys like Val don’t work. Plus we need shooters. Us being last in 3pa is inexcusable. We need to set plays up for CJ and Trey to get open. We don’t do that enough

Griffin has done his job as best he could.

Until the 2021 offseason when he hired green and drafted Trey, Herb and Jose, pretty much every move of his sucked.

Derrick Favors, JJ Reddick, Stan Van Gundy, Eric Bledsoe, trading the number 4 overall pick for Jaxson Hayes and NAW, spending a 1st and 4 2s on Devonte Graham.

Year 3 he saved his job bringing in Herb, Trey, Jose, Jonas and CJ. But fact is we are year four and have a team with some real deficiencies in rim protection and 3 or shooting even when healthy.

The injuries are painful, but year 4 the team needs to make the playoffs.

That’s a far cry from “he should be fired”

if Griff wanted to fire him IF we don’t make the play-in. I wouldn’t be upset. It would take an utter collapse and the coach to lose the locker room for us to not make it.

this team was beating almost all the good teams when healthy. injuries piled up during a very hard stretch and it beat the team down.

in march don’t be surprised if we only lose 3 games and then i’m sure you will be no to be found
