Flying out in july and trying to just get an idea of what time I'm going to have to leave my house.

Right I’m driving from Jackson ms though. I’ve got time but just need to start planning on if I need to leave at 4 or 5 in the morning. Like is 2 hours enough to check bags and got through security on a Saturday morning?

If checking, get there around 8
If not checking 845

If you have a gun in your bag, 7:30. Otherwise 8.

Security in New Orleans is notoriously slow and you’ll most likely have to park off site. Give yourself plenty of extra time

Yeah I know. We were gonna try to do just carry on but my wife is convinced we have to bring too much shite. I think sunscreen is the biggest deal because she doesn’t want to have to buy at the resort.

Yeah I haven’t been since they opened the new terminal. Jackson airport sucks balls otherwise I’d just fly from here. Last time I flew from msy our flight was at like 6am but it was old terminal.

Might come in the night before and not be stressed and tired.

Need to get you a wife that knows how to pack. I have one and it makes this stuff easy.

Travel size or buy it there. It’s not that expensive in Cancun.
You do not want to check a bag to and from Cancun. Do whatever you need to do to make this happen.

Why not?

Two hours is more that enough time in my experience, although for vacation flights I actually like to arrive a little early and get lubed up at the bar.

He’s going to Cancun in July. It’s going to be hotter than two cats facking in a wool sock. Light and casual attire is perfect, regardless of where he’s staying, and easily fits in a carryon. We do it all the time.
Have you seen the lines to check a bag in Cancun? Hundreds of hungover, sunburned miserable Americans lined up like cattle. Hard pass.
A checked bag is also an extra step at both Mexican and American customs, not to mention the usual waiting on baggage claim.

Yeah we did checked bags a few years ago. more of a pain in cancun than nola which is why we were talking about not checking them this time. As we get closer to actually leaving we're going to try and see if we can make it work. Just fitting all the bullshite in the quart bag is whats concerning my wife. I can make due for a week with out anything that needs to go in there.

I like to get there at least 2 hours early. I don’t trust anyone in the airport to do their job in a reasonable manner and expect something to be delayed.
