I came across this Rage video a while back, and while I'm not their biggest fan, I was slightly infatuated with this for a while, and if future generations ask me to tell them what was Rage Against the Machine all about, this will nail it IMO.

Kashmir-Zeppelin … it’s a perfect rock song and can transport your mind to another time and place.

My immediate thought was Kashmir. It demonstrates every facet of Zepplin's sound and sums up exactly who they were.

I can remember hearing that classic riff for the first time when I was about 11… it was on a rock cd infomercial… I sought out that song and the day I got my drivers license I drove to the Monroe mall to buy Physical Graffiti. It’s pure greatness .

oasis - "wonderwall"
at it's core, it's a tale of heartbreak, tragedy, and ultimately abandonment. much like the maligned relationship between liam and the other guy, the lyrics speak to the realization that "the fire in your heart is out", that moment when liam realizes it--both the band and their kinship--is over.
