No you're not.

No clue on the value but the "From An Actual Survey" line made me for some reason.
Is that supposed to make it more legit? If so, I definitely believe them.

I'm just messing with you, buddy.
I actually find a lot of the stuff you find interesting.

No direct experience. But I've passed a couple places on the street in NYC that deal in antique maps (makes sense that there'd be more of a market for such collectibles here).
One is Argosy bookstore, which has a dedicated map floor/section for maps.

Also saw this one while looking Argosy up...

I'd imagine these might have decent guidance. Probably worth a call.

That's a lot of wear and tear.

Thanks, I just called them. He wanted photos, sounded pretty excited.

Yes, like I said, it’s brittle. Do not store anything made of paper in South Louisiana attics for too long.

All folded up and torn. That shite is probably worth $12
My pawpaw had a map like that of the eastern seaboard framed at his house. Exact same style.. probably made by the same people. Probably a re-print like this one. I doubt my grandparents had a $6500 map in a frame at their house.

I knew the OT would come through. Thanks a ton.
I’m guessing the value of this one is probably $100-$300, IDK

It comes folded up into a hardcover book, about 8x5”

I assume the question is how rare is it. Framed nicely I could see $300.
Looking to see how to spot if it is a replica printed a lot later. No rev number anywhere?

No need for routes to fur trapping markets here. No waze, no use.

Call the Antiquarium in Houston. Or The Old Print Shop or Arader Gallery in NYC. They will be able to give you an idea for wholesale, auction or direct sale.
ETA - that’s an awesome map.

Derailing here, but how much of the things that you buy do you actually keep and how do you determine what you keep and what you sell? I’m sure you come across some really fascinating antiques.

I keep nearly nothing, usually shite my wife may like (kitchen stuff, Christmas stuff).
Right now, I have 8 things on eBay, that I just listed. That’s about all the junk I have right now. Last weekend, I had a garage sale, got rid of all the junk, starting over, new year. The $700 I made off my garage sale is my seed money.
