In a statement to CNBC on Monday, Mark Bednar, a chief spokesman for McCarthy, said the priorities of the organization no longer align with the Republican Party.

“The priorities of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have not aligned with the priorities of House Republicans or the interests of their own members, and they should not expect a meeting with Speaker McCarthy as long as that’s the case,” Bednar said.

Lauren Fine, the spokeswoman for Steve Scalise, reiterated the same sentiment.

“Washington has radically shifted away from the pro-business philosophy of most local Chambers across America,” Fine said. “Unless the Chamber gets back to their traditional pro-business roots, they should not expect to have any engagement with Majority Leader Scalise’s office.”

Well well well

It appears that Gaetz and the Orange Man have helped this lispy SOB locate his balls.

Or perhaps the MTG rumors are true.

Either way. I like this

Well…..

What grade do the never McCarthy types give him?

Are you willing to say you’re wrong yet? Or does he need more time and fights to take on to prove himself?

And no, Gaetz and Co don’t get credit for this stuff. They played their roles well but we’re well past that now.

I beg to differ.

Gaetz and company have forced a binding agreement

Mornin’ Wednesday. That was a coincidence that I mentioned Gaetz right after your post which I hadn’t seen. Nothing personal there.

I’m suggesting that the leadership could simply not move forward on particular battles if they deemed them unnecessary. Was taking on the CoC part of the Holdouts desires? I don’t recall that being the case. If it was then good on all of them for making demands and for the follow through. If it wasn’t then that should make some people reassess their views of McCarthy. This is what can happen when the Right gets on the same page and we need all of that that we can get.

I agree

If they just rubber stamped the vote for Mccarthy, stuff like this would never happen

Good. The Chamber is anti-American.

Not yet, I want to see what he does with the debt ceiling and an actual budget

Not specifically- but the holdouts were insistent on avoiding being the right wing of the Uniparty.

The Chamber of Commerce is the fundamental reason we have this immigration debacle. They’re the American Arm of the WEF. Or at least so far as I’m concerned. They’re about business- but the Big kind. The organization has lost its way. Perhaps irredeemably. They can go hang out with Mitt Romney.

We can compare him to Paul Ryan! LOL!

Paul Ryan would simply refuse to vote!

Like the giant energy corps that Biden is trying to increase stock buy-back taxes on?

If they want to support democrats, they can go support Biden. I really DGAF.

I have no use for the Chamber of Commerce. I hope it ends up as a politically homeless pariah.

I'm just trying to figure out when we support giant corporations, versus when we're supposed to vilify them.

I guess in this case we're vilifying them?

So far, he gets an A.

And I didn’t trust him at all.

We will see how it goes, but I have to give credit where credit is due.
