Had a bike for a couple months now but I still haven’t taken the test to get my endorsement.
What are y’all experiences with taking it?
Any tips on things to study before taking it?
I’m in Louisiana.

Can you do a figure 8 in the parking lot? Pay your fee, take the written test and do your figure 8 is all I had to do. It was a PITA that I had to find a licensed rider to take my bike to the inspection place to get the inspection sticker, that was the hardest part.

Did the same but went with the rejected sticker, got the endorsement then went back to the same place for the right one. The rejected sticker (unless something changed) kept you good for a month. Did not have to pay for the real sticker when I went back to the same place or I didn't pay for the rejection. One or the other, only paid once.

Thanks fellas! Been riding dirty while I learn to ride (mainly around the neighborhood) but I feel confident enough now that I can pass the test.

As with any test. Questions can be tricky so read carefully. My buddy failed it twice and we still give him hell about it! lol

It's been about 15 years since I took it but I did the written test, went out in the parking lot, made a lap around the building, and that was all. I believe the whole process took about 30 minutes or so. Put your helmet on before getting on/starting the bike, I was told they'd dock you if you did otherwise.

Test is easy. Do a figure 8 and answer some easy questions. The issue is needing insurance and inspection- neither of which you can get without an endorsement. Your ins. Company will give you a 24 hr waiver while you get endorsed (usually), but for the inspection, i had to find a guy who sells them on the down low. Ask anyone with over-tinted windows and they can usually put you in touch.

Borrow a buddies motorcycle for the test. That way you can avoid the issues with the insurance and inspection on your own motorcycle.

I rode my bike to the DMV and the lady who walked out with me for my test asked how I got there. "I rode it here." She walked back in and printed out my endorsement.

I brought my endorsement with me from Florida, they took it off my FL DL. I have never had my bike inspected.
