Kyrie will leave in free agency, unless Brooklyn gives him a max with 0 stipulation --- that is what apparently spurred all of this stupidity.

That being said, watch at a team like Utah...there's a real possibility of doing a 3-team trade to keep Brooklyn's chances going and LA Lakers to get better as well while accumulating assets.

Except now there are only a little more than 30 games left and he is a free agent. He's holding all the cards. Letting him walk for nothing is just plain bad business.

Now, what about the teams that want him? Do they want a rental or are they willing to go all in on a max contract, including "bird rights?"

Either way, the Nets will not get back much more than the rental price.

that's the huge sticking point, for most teams... are you really going to invest in this guy long term, like he's demanding, or not...
