I know they restructured some things recently. Curious what to watch as far as when they can most easily move on. Seemed clear that both parties were looking for an exit strategy.

Going off memory, but the first day of the next year (March 15th?), his 2023 salary becomes guaranteed and is essentially uncutable until 2024.

I don’t know if I can agree with him getting his money and dipping as he put up one of the best WR seasons ever immediately after signing.

I don’t like the guy either but I think him being a bitch has more to do with the fact he’s no longer catching passes from a HOF QB.

frick I miss Brees.

Which the Saints can designate in March once they find a way to kick the can and get the $60M over the cap resolved. You have to be under to use the June 1 designation. The Saints are in complete cap hell, and will have to make several restructured deals (Ram, maybe Cam & Lattimore) just to get under for 2023. If so, it could be well until 2025 before our cap situation improves.

Far worse if we sign Carr.

I feel his new contract indicates the Saints knew he could have played more over the last two years.

Is the OP talking about a surgery timeline?? If so, I'd expect that to happen 3wks before the season starts.

It's as if some of us were not on here way back when this happened warning of the potential consequences and receiving those awful ( ) DVs for it. Now errbody be like hating Mike.

I'm just happy to see all the excuses from the fans finally coming to a stop. The dude robbed this team and its fans, and that's all it amounts to.

I like him as player. He gives it his all to catch a pass. Problem is he gets hurt. I would try get another year out of him. I guess he will be June 1st cut.

He’s just injury prone sadly. That injury completely destroyed him. I doubt he will ever play a full season again. It’s crazy because he was an iron man up until that injury. Just shows you how quickly things can change for an nfl player.

I think all Michael Thomas injury threads should be forbidden. I barely remember what he even looks like on the field. He's the most talked about player thar doesn't play. It's pretty laughable and ironic. I really can't wait for that guy to be gone.
