This is why a 6th year guy like Beloso should be gone. You’re taking reps and development time away from your future.

I'll wait for his 1B update but Beloso likely knows his role and pecking order
I'm confident Johnson has communicated that to him already
This is it for Beloso, one more chance for Omaha in whatever role it is and than he can move on with his life and get married

Beloso is not a 6th year guy. He started at LSU in 2019.

2019 - Freshman
2020 - doesnt count
2021 - Sophomore
2022 - Junior (missed due to injury)
2023 - Senior

5th year guy, and technically due to him missing all of last season with the covid year as well he COULD come back for a 6th year should he want it in 2024 and he doesnt count against any of the 35-man roster spots assuming they keep that rule 1 more year where it's 35+5.

What a dumb post for a number of reasons.

1) Beloso doesn't count against the roster limit since he's a 5th year covid guy.
2) He's a veteran leader who likely knows his roles and will simply do anything to help the team get to Omaha.
3) If LSU were to make it to Omaha and Tre were to tweak a hamstring, I bet you'd wish you had more options than a true freshman 1st baseman with little game time experience at that position.

Beloso will get a nod here or there, I expect mostly in midweek & in a pinch hitting role, but I don’t think he he going to be a huge factor in stealing anyone’s playing. Certainly not at 1B.

And again, outside of 2B & C, DH is the next most intriguing position battle. And for Beloso to see time there, will have to hit for power which he hasn’t done in a long time.

Not a good take...I don't think Beloso is taking any game reps away from anyone that will play significantly in the future this year. That said his leadership, knowledge of what the season will bring, and other situational knowledge is invaluable in the club house.

I'm certain Beloso knows his role here and realizes that most of the time he'll be more like a player coach than an actual player. He's along for the ride of what could be an incredible season.
