I don’t think I’ve ever seen a commercial that made me say “I want to buy this product”

But you've bought a product at a later time because of seeing an ad, which is what they want you to do. Next time you need sodas, the first one you'll remember is the one that drove ads down your throat

I sometimes wonder if commercials are useless, then I think about why I buy one toothpaste brand over another, or one cereal over another, or one _____ over another…

Well. Every time I see a football, I crave a Dr Pepper.

You’ve never seen a commercial which made you aware of a product you were previously unaware of, which then prompted you to want to buy that product?

There's a multi-billion dollar industry that says you are wrong.

The only commercial I've seen lately that remotely interests me is the trailer for "Cocaine Bear". What a hell of an idea for a movie.

I don't watch much TV, though. Ads are geared towards society's weaker minded people and as far as products go, I've never wanted to buy something after seeing an ad for it. I'm a big nerd, though. Prefer Lex Fridman, world science festival and financial lectures.

But did he really buy it bc of the ad?

What if he just needed something and the store doesn't have many options?

That’s not what commercials are designed for. It’s so you’ll have a favorable attitude toward the brand, so when you see it in the store you’ll remember that the product gave you a good feeling, and you’ll be more likely to buy it.

I think when I saw it, it was during a championship game this past Sunday. I wasn't really watching, but was listening and thought "did I just hear them say cocaine bear?"

Had to go a find the trailers and watch them a couple times. Props to the writers of that movie for stepping out the box. I hope it's good, it would be a shame to waste that idea.
