Just start construction already

Damn. This highway must go all the way to Berlin.
Also it’s not on hold. It’s delayed so they can widen the flyover first.

Let’s just agree to rip the bandaid off instead of a slow pull. I’m actually okay with some forward thinking.

It really astounds me that we have barely functional retards that are in charge of anything more than a snowball stand in this shitshow of a state.

The problem is that this is a slow pull disguised as a quick rip.
We set the bar so low for these massive projects that we always get exactly what we expect.

That’s the second lane added today.

I mean to be fair, people have complained about the plan to reduce the bridge approach to 1 lane since it was announced. This is pretty clearly a direct response to that criticism from the public - a way to keep it at 2 lanes going to the bridge.

Shouldn't take too long.

The fact that DOTD thought choking I-10 down to one lane in each direction in an already notorious bottleneck was a good idea just shows the incompetence of that organization.

It's hilarious to see people say shite like this despite the 20 threads a day shitting on LA politics.

Why not add yet another lane to make it 4 lanes on the flyover. 2 in each direction while construction on the eastbound lanes are under reconstruction.
That way when the project is completed by the end of the decade, you will have 3 lanes going onto the bridge and a wider westbound flyover ramp with a shoulder.
Any way with construction not starting until mid decade a new administration and DOTD head can easily change those plans.

Not so fast, my friend. Time for another environmental/equity study.

Not adding a lane to the finished product. Adding a lane to the current westbound flyover during construction to keep I-10 west the same 2 lanes it currently is now.
The biggest issue with this project is they're widening I-10 to where it should have been in 1990. It doesn't go far enough to solve the issue.
The eastbound ramp that exits at Washington St isn't being widened at all. It's just going to be 2 continuous lanes now that don't have an exit only at Washington St. It needs to be 3 continuous lanes over the ramp to keep traffic flowing off of the bridge.

Maybe if y'all voted instead of posting about it, things would change. Doubtful though.
