Today, in a responsive letter to inquiry from House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, exactly as anticipated, the DOJ triggered the latter justification as a reason not to comply with legislative oversight.
WASHINGTON DC – Carlos Felipe Uriarte, the assistant attorney general for DOJ’s office of legislative affairs, sent a Monday letter to House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), pointing to Garland’s Jan. 12 selection of special counsel Robert Hur to investigate Biden’s apparent mishandling of classified information as the key reason why the DOJ was limiting its sharing of information on the Biden saga.

It’s all a farce, a dual system of justice right in front of everyone who is paying attention. The appointment order is two-page pdf, which is essentially the initiating scope of authorization for the special counsel to follow.
quote:
Hur was appointed to throw a bag over the issue and stop a GOP congress from gaining access to the documents.
Jordan’s office quickly responded today.
“Our Members are rightly concerned about the Justice Department’s double standard here. After all, some of the Biden documents were found at a think tank that has received funds from communist China,” Jordan spokesman Russell Dye told the Washington Examiner. “It’s concerning, to say the least, that the Department is more interested in playing politics than cooperating.”

It would be funny if they were held in contempt of Congress and jailed.

So we no longer have government of the people, by the people or for the people but it sure as hell appears we have government to the people.

Subpoena, hold in contempt, then jail.
Those are the new rules.

Time for the House to step and use their Power of the Purse! Defund the DOJ!!!
fricking Joe Biden has classified docs all over the place and being emailed to various organization, and our own CONGRESS can't get those doc due to an investigation? The term "constitutional crisis" has been thrown around a lot over the last few years, but if this is one then I don't know what is!

DOJ is a fricking criminal organization. They hire FBI agents that they know are pussies. They profile FBI agents to hire them. All of them are rule following candy asses that have never rolled through a stop sign. They look for guys that are one to two generations away from white trash, usually a family of uneducated cops, and they let them
In the FBI and give them a little power and they think they are finally somebody. They will do anything they are told to keep their little eagle badge and credentials

Just tell them that if they don’t have every single document by February 15th that in the next budget the DOJ will get a 30% haircut and that will be non negotiable. They can shut down the whole country to support DOJ corruption. Make that a 2024 election issue. Republicans need to have some balls here rather than debt ceiling BS.

It's hard to swallow, but the Dems are big-time criminally liable and will utterly resist any and all procedural pressure that incriminates them. Like Hillary's Emails, there is no way they can let that stuff see the light of day, lest their own Leadership go down in flames and start the dominos falling. There will be no early morning raids and arrests. Sadly so.
The MSM will say it's radical Republican 'payback' and gas light their ignorant minions.

Expecting the DOJ to cooperate with congress in an investigation of Biden is akin to expecting the Gestapo to cooperate with the Reichstag in an investigation of Adolf Hitler.

No sane world should any of these bureaucrat department idiots be able to say no to elected members of Congress. Just absolutely insane to me that we come come this far as a country.

This really needs to happen.
I don't care who it is, but any politician with a national stage that advocates for something like this will win over a great deal of the Right and a lot of the center.

What needs to happen is that the FBI needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

DOJ needs to be re-built. FBI needs to go away.
About arguments on using the power of the purse - thanks to the Omnibus, that's not possible any time soon.

This. Turtle and the House Rs basically gelded the new House from using the power of the purse. The new House was fricked from the get-go.

So the faux investigation into Biden’s mishandling of SCIF level documents was to protect the Biden Crime Syndicate? It’s just getting better everyday.
