Longer starts and more multi-inning relievers. That's my platform for president in 2024.
Longer starts would definitely help, but I'd like to see more multi-inning relief appearances. I think this LSU pitching staff is set up for that. A guy like Taylor, Collins, or Shores coming in and going 2-3 innings out of the pen to shut things down would be

No doubt. 93-94 mph fastballs have become batting practice for good college hitters. Even 95+ flat fastballs are gonna get crushed by a lot of SEC guys.

Agree, interesting to see how our pitching develops, some good arms as far as power, but do we have pitchers/control……

If u havent heard the latest hey fighting tigers podcast it featured Skenes and Hurd.. its a great listen.
They discussed our pitching lab and the force plate mound we have that measures how much force your legs put into the mound. Apparently the more force put into the mound the harder you throw.. and coach Wes Johnson is on the forefront of this technology.
Skenes said something like "Ive never understood why my stuff was good, why i got guys out".. scary to think the jump these guys can make with Wes and the lab.

this is true. in 1994 RA Dickey (future Cy Young winner and knuckler) entered Tennessee throwing 92 or 93 max. He was thought of as a fireballer. This was twenty-nine years ago.

We literally won a national championship the first season the new box was open and some of the complaints then are the same we have now. “These bleachers from the old box are just a one year thing”.

I didn’t go back that far for that very reason. At that time people were told the OF was temporary, the suites and concourse would extend all the way down the lines (like Baum).
