Players who’s games fit the pro game better than the college game.

I don’t mean guys who got to the pros and improved, I mean guys who’s game just seems/seemed to fit the pros better than college.
The obvious example here is Tom Brady. Obviously he improved in the NFL everyone does, but it also just seems like his game fits professional football better than college football.
Another example IMO is Dame Lilliard. His game just seemed to translate to the NBA so well, while he was great in college, it seems like his style of play fits the NBA better.

Heisman runner up Jalen Hurts. Clearly not cut out for the college game

Hurts was the worst Bama QB in the last 12 years. Threw for barely 2000 yards and 17 TDs with a receiving corps of Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, and DeVonta Smith. One good year for OU in a powder puff defensive conference doesn't mean he was a great college QB. He certainly wasn't even close to being the player in college that he is now in the pros.

ETA: i would say its the bigs in the NBA that are able to play in the pick and roll like a deandre jordan or clint capella (although these guys fell out quick due to not being able to shoot on a pick and pop). Guards take a longer time to devlop the ball handling and court vision just because those are tougher skills, so we see guards bloom a little later in their careers
In football, its the pro style, pocket passing QBs. The college game is so predicated on the RPO (Thats a run pass option guys), and that type of offense doesnt typically do very well in the NFL. Matt Ryan, Aaron rodgers, herbert, kirk cousins, goff to name a few

Allen's play style definitely fit the college game, he just wasn't as accurate in college.

I have to say Justin Jefferson. He had a great career at LSU, but what he's doing is incredible.

Absolutely he was a stud in college I’m not saying he wasn’t. I’m just saying it seems like his game translated so well into the NBA that he essentially leveled up automatically when he got into the league

I would agree with this in general

I think both of these guys fall under the category of “Improved massively once they got into the league” and not the category of “game translates better to pro”
Hell Jalen Hurts game is basically designed specifically to dominate in college, credit to him for stepping it up in the league

Great answer, I actually thought the Vikings were dumb to draft him so high because his production was inflated due to having Joe Burrow as a QB and Jamar Chase playing opposite him taking the defenses best players and schemes away from him.
Clearly I am an idiot and a shitty NFL scout

I guess it’s his incredible route running that helped him translate so well into the NFL, similar to a guy like Marques Colston.
