I guess anything can truly be racist now. Looks like they will be replacing it with a proper woke ride. Priorities.

It’s ok, this is yet another step in reducing crime. As you can see by the drop in crime when the statues were taken down, this can only result in a safer America.

You’d have to go to Disney to see this. If you’re voluntarily giving them thousands of dollars to wait in lines, you’re no better than the groomers working for them.

Punish Disney then and don't spend money in their park.

If it hurts their bottom line, they'll stop eventually.

Its really easy to tell the people who post on TD that will never have children.

I wouldn’t give them a dime of my money if my life depended on it.

That's a bit of a stretch. Hyperbole isn't really that effective here.

ETA: Unless your point is that groomers aren't that bad, they're no worse than your average parents who take their kids to Disney for vacation. See how easy it is to turn hyperbole back on you?

Amazing how they turned folk stories from black people into racism.

Every time you speak honestly about the 19th Century, you'll be accused of being racist.

And the 20th.

And the 21st.

I mean, of all the things to bitch about with Disney, this is one of the least. It’s a ride themed with a movie that hasn’t been commercially available in over two generations. Kids right now, and more than likely their parents, have never seen or heard of Song of the South.

They are returning it to Princess and the Frog I think, and I’m good with that.

my parents took us to see it in the theater in the 1970s and i still have several childrens books disney printed with zippidy-doo-da and brer rabbit that were widely available in the 70s & 80s.

Honestly, I’m so sick of these fricking people being over sensitive and calling everything “racist”!! Don’t like it here, leave!! Go live in whatever African utopia you think your ancestors came from!!

Enough is enough!!

it's insane to me how a company can create self inflicted wounds like that.

instead of just saying "hey look splash mountain was cool but we have something cooler we want to replace it with" they piss off 70-80% of their customers with racist bullshite

I’m just going to miss the part where the song says “pretty good, show us your balls…”

Other than the mountain being rethemed to a bayou, I have no issue with the switch to Princess and the Frog. Rides get rethemed all of the time at other parks to more current themes.

Having said that, Disney could have just left it at that and not even played up the "racism" angle.
