The players he had to piece together are trash

Really? I COMPLETELY disagree. There are a lot of good players on this team. Losing Wilkinson hurt for sure. Here is a 40+ % 3 pt shooter and a good defensive player.
The top 20 class is what is concerning. The rest of the players are more than enough to be competitive.

That non conference fools gold record set some high expectations in some.

The weak non conference games definitely elevated expectations in some. for the others a last second loss versus KState, wins over Wake Forest , Arkansas, and a hard fought game at Kentucky led one to rethink what this team could achieve. It’s been all downhill with no brakes since that Kentucky loss.

Disagree. They have plenty fight. They DO NOT have jump shots.

They have no rebounding.

Will Wade was 2-14 vs. power 5 teams before he got to LSU. So you’re made this post to say McMahon is better than Wade or were you just posting a random stat with no context expecting the clown on here to get excited?

Through January 22nd of Wade’s 1st year at LSU he was 5-21 vs. power 5 teams.

His biggest win was 5 years ago vs a 24-10 Marquette team. That’s it, that’s his only signature upset win for his career. He was 13-13 year before last and he had slim margins of victory even when he was winning games at MS.

Wade’s biggest power 5 wins of his career prior to LSU:

LSU in the Battle of Atlantis 5th place game in 2016 (Johnny Jones final year)

Or

Oregon St (19-13, 6th in the Pac12) in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament.

Wade was a cheap, shot in the dark hire as well we just got lucky he happened to be advanced in his approach and style.

Not really proving much as he coached at a non power 5 school. That’s a poor evaluation metric. He may not work out but that stat doesn’t mean much.

games just haven't been competitive at all

Shocking, and unprecedented in LSU basketball history. Even during the worst Dale Brown, John Brady, Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones teams competed for whole games before surrendering defeat.
