I know this has been talked about, but some government official definitely are closet readers of this site. Those lights should absolutely be illegal. How is it that dark tint or even pot is illegal, but these lights that absolutely blind you are not? I know this has been talked about on here… My retina’s feel like Putin went second sun nuclear explosion whenever they see those bright lights.
Also, teach your family to not ride someones arse with the brights on. Shouldn’t be someone’s fault if they cause an accident because your bright lights blinded them.

I’m old enough to remember when it was rare to see someone riding along with their bright lights on. Now it’s like 20-30% of vehicles on the road. And you can flash your brights at them and they just keep trucking along. It’s almost like they accidentally turned them on at some point and are too stupid to know how to switch back to low beams.

Squatted trucks and those idiotic hick trucks with the tires bowed out from the fender wells should be banned.

Yeah. It sucks. If they're coming toward me I'll flash my brights and get their next level up.
If they're behind me there's not much you can do other than flip a a finger, but I don't bother.
I wish I had an eclipsing sun bank of football field lights to turn on to give them a taste.

The biggest issue is the color temperature of the lights. The higher color temp (bulbs are marketed as “cool”) are very harsh on the eyes, even at the same “brightness” as lower color temp (warmer). I think that the color temp, should be part of the regulation. Get rid of these harsh high color temp headlights.

A huge problem is all of these rednecks throwing LEDs in their 99 Silverados in which the housings are not made for them. When you put LEDs or HIDs in normal housings, you get a lot of scatter and they throw light everywhere. I flash them, they flash me right back. Idiots.

Are you sure it's been talked about?

Don’t mind the bright lights on a normal car. Figure most of the time it’s on accident. What gets me is the jacked up trucks where low beam is now high beam. I have no clue if they’re adjustable but when a lift is added the listers should get adjusted.
The worst are these f250 guys that buy a new f250 put a 3 inch lift with big tires, never tow anything but have a $400 adjustable hitch and then get out of the truck and they’re 5’6” and think they’re a bad a¥*.

People riding around dark roads outside of the city with their high beams on is much more prevalent than a few cars or trucks with overly bright low beam headlights.
It seems like at least 1 in 4 keep their high beams on as they pass people and don’t switch them off like you’re supposed to. Back in the day everyone had the courtesy to turn them off as they approached you, which is how I do it. Nowadays people don’t GAF and keep them on.

OEM lights are not the issue, it's the aftermarket junk. The car was designed with the light adhering to regulation standards, but when you jack up a truck, put brighter LED lights, and not adjust the trajectory of the light relative to the new height of the light you have the aggravation you are talking about.
It's low class, cheesy, and a severe lack of consideration for others.

Not what I expected when I opened this thread

I'm completely with you OP. I see a lot of people put brights on when on a busy interstate and it is absolutely moronic to me.

I thought flashing your lights at someone would get you killed. Gang initiation and all.

I don't even like LED taillights. The ones Toyota uses in particular burn my retinas. Frick Toyota.

The big trucks with six headlights are the ones that really make me mad. I think they are Ford trucks.
Same thing with some buildings in the country - nice dark country night then some clown puts nights lights out that would light up a football stadium.
I use a very low light profile where I have control over the lighting.
