That was really embarrassing for the NFL

But the public tantrum by Saints fans after was even more embarrassing. Lawsuits, saying the game should restart, etc

Actually, that sounds like a lot Louisiana Bengal fans as of late

Lead to a failed drive by the great Drew Brees in OT to put it away. Then the saints gave up a “chip shot” 57 yard field goal. But the outcome of The game definitely was caused by one bad call.

This has always been the dumbest argument made concerning that game. I can’t fathom how people are still making it.

If the game ended because of the call I’ll cry with you. This is the same board that cries about NFL OT rules because “whoever gets the ball first wins”. You got the ball with a HOF QB at home. Ball don’t lie.

The game would have ended with that first down. Don't be stupid.

Wow, it's almost like the NFL picks and chooses winners arbitrarily and a lot of people rightly think it's bullshite.

Just remarkably stupid.

That game left a sour taste in my mouth and my interest in the NFL hasn't ever been the same.

Saints would've had the ball at the Rams' six with 1:41 to play. Take a knee or two and kick a 23-yard field goal to win.

Tom Brady would've been screaming for a call.

Brees just stood there like a lil bitch.

It was definitely that bad.

And I'm not a Saints supporter in the slightest

I remember me and my buddies watching this drunk as shite in our dorm room freshman year. We yelled so loud the RA came down and gave us a warning. We ended up just hopping on one of the campus busses and riding it around for no reason other than to just get out and seething in drunken anger.

Shut the frick up

There’s a lot of other shite you can say to absolve the refs, but not this. Never this. It was 1000% pass interference.

frick the NFL. That’s my only statement on this, respect my decision.

I’ll never forget Tony Parker hitting that clutch shot in game 1 2013. 2014 was cathartic though.

Against LeBron's defense, no less

TP9 hit a clutch 3 in game 6 that should have been the dagger, too Dude was lethal.

That redemption arc was needed in the worst way.

Wish the football gods had granted that for the Saints the next year.

Refs still haven’t been held accountable either

Head ref got the super bowl the next year

Bill Vinovich will be refereeing a Divisional Round game this weekend

The officials being eyed to work the Super Bowl typically work the Divisional Round

So there's a chance Vinovich gets this year's Super Bowl too

ETA: but you will note... Vinovich hasn't reffed a Saints game since that day... though other members of that day's crew have (ones who weren't involved in the call)
